Mazda Track Day - Wakefield Park, 25/06/10!!
A couple of weeks ago RX-8club got invited to a trackday hosted by MRT Performance and Osbourne Racing, courtesy of Mazda Racing Australia, at Wakefield park. Pretty casual day, got some good track time to test new suspension before the Nationals as well as a pair of hilarious sessions riding shotgun in both the MRT EVO and Osbourne Racing's MPS3
Rotaries were well represented with a pair of RX-8 series 2 GTs and a pair of series 1, pleased to say we held our own
Weather held out just long enough, and other than a near miss from an errant Evo it was a great day!
Just thought I'd share some videos and pics from yesterday, still waiting on the pics from Mazda
Warning, some foul language
Evo near miss:
Osbourne Racing MPS3:
MRT Performance Evo:
Taking one of the OzMPS clubbies MPS6 out
The breakdowns of the day were an MPS6 (featured in video above, after we got it going again), and Skitz's RX-8 on the way home in the rain (protip: cars need fuel to go )
Osbourne MPS3
Couple of me

The Evo was absolutely crazy. Bald tyres and driven by a madman
We all agreed that we enjoyed the ride in the Evo versus the MPS3. Not to say that they were not both insane, but there is something about a 5point harness that gives a false sense of security :D

and off topic I saw a great looking S3 in Ashfield last week Len.Wheels look great.
I'm hoping that the STI that my Dad and I got (and then he crashed in Targa Tassie) is repaired for the next MRT track day. It will be good to have a go on the track again finally even if it is cheating in a 4WD car!
