Good fun.
I noticed though that some NIMBY treehugging ********* couldn't help themselves and protested the event.
And we wonder why the WRC thinks twice about putting on an event here...
As for nascar, don't worry - we have to put up with the bogan equivalent in V8 supercars...but at least we have F1, Indy and Sportscar racing...

The V8's here are like watching paint dry. The guys that follow that are up there with people that believe WWF wrestling is real.
The V8's do sound good though. They should make the races production cars from all manufacturers and I would watch it for sure. I think wrestling will be real before they do that again unfortunately.
I heard those hippies at the rally were throwing rocks at the cars and putting rocks on the road. They should have flogged them!

And I don't hate Ford/Holden per se - just their crap unreliable 'built-in obsolescent' products and terrible attitude to service and customer loyalty. Designed cheap, built cheap, look cheap and go cheap. No wonder Supercheap is a sponsor...

Yeah, I saw that. Mind you, what'd they expect holding the event in the middle of treehugger heaven. They should have gone west. The outback could use the revenue and the locals would appreciate it more...

The deputy principal of my daughter's school was the leader of the protest group although I doubt he would have been a rock thrower.
All they had to do to keep that lot away was to place a few cakes of soap around the place.
I think the hippies were just worried that the helicopters would find their cash crops.
The town stages were great, 3 cars on a 5.5km lap that included part of the main street of Murwillumbah.
It is easy to knock the V8s but it is close competitive racing.
As a TV sport that makes it a lot better than F1 or anything that comes out of the US.
I always thought the British super tourers were the best though. Those guys hold nothing back.

Sorry, but my eyes glaze over watching the V8s on the telly too. Although agreed about F1 in recent years.
I loved the super tourers too - amazing racing. So is the German version.
