Labour Weekend 26-28 October 2013
Hi all
Thought I would see if anyone is interested in doing something over Labour weekend.
Maybe just a day out on the 27th.
Probably around Auckland area, and stop somewhere for lunch.
Anything Rotary would be welcome.
Anyway let me know if you are interested in going for a drive.

Damn... Why does all this stuff have to be up in the North? Would love to be part of something similar but no one else down here seems to be able to pull it together.

As each event has gone on, they are getting harder and harder to get people to commit to come along.
So unless I can get at least 6-10 cars to turn up, then it probably won't go ahead.
All I'm looking at at this stage is a group drive out into the country side and a stop for lunch, maybe fish n chips. Talk some B/S, just the usual, Nothing too expensive, just a fun day out.
Anyway I'll see what replies we get.

I'd be keen for it.
Spent last Saturday at Hampton downs getting some education on how badly I drive. Only RX8 there so I got a bit of ribbing but the car held it's own. Thankfully the only part that got damaged was the tyres due to all the heavy braking, lot's of track time and excellent instruction from some top touring car drivers. $235.00 for the day including lunch which I thought was a pretty good deal.

Anybody got any good ideas how we can advertise this advent to get a good number of people to come along for a cruise?
Maybe it could be opened up to Mazdaspeed 3 and 6 as well?
I'm open to all ideas.
Thanks

Hey Xcon
It looks like that group certainly get a good turnout to their events.
But I'm not sure we need huge numbers to come along. Twenty people would be great.
Do you know any of the people that go along to those RX cruises?

I dont know any of them. I only cruised with them when they first started , but not since.
But yes , they do seem to have pretty good turn outs looking at their pic's.They seem to be old skool rota's mainly.
These guys also have a rota meet the 2nd Wednesday of every month. It seems to go ahead rain or shine at Burger Fuel, Sylvia Park,Auckland.
thanks

Would you guys rather have a day trip to Taupo on the same day and go and watch some motorsport?
Plenty of good roads to cruise on at a reasonable pace.
Let us know your thoughts.

I haven't done anymore with this, as I didn't feel there was enough interest.
Seems like only about half a dozen people have shown any interest so far, and its not worth all the effort for that many people.
I'm still happy to put something together, but would like to see more interest then what I've seen so far.
If someone knows a way to get 10 or more cars to come along, then I'm happy to put the event together.
Anyway sorry to put a downer on it all.
Have fun

Day drive?
How many kiwis do we have and where are they all?
Makes it hard when we have people like you up north, others in Welly. Bulk would be Auckland but if focus is on Auckland then those further away miss out due to distance.
