Yesterday on a local dirt road I knocked off the oil level sender. Believe it or not this delicate little item is located on the side of the sump pan, opposite the drain plug - just about the lowest point of the motor! (Proof positive that Mazda did not design the 8 with rallying in mind.)
About 2 litres of oil drained out thru the cracked plastic fitting overnight.

By the way, all, I reckon that Hymee's exhaust is maturing with age, and as it approaches adolescence after about 3000 km is adopting a deeper, throatier note, becoming a baritone. I am liking it more and more.
