Sorry, I get a bit ticked off these days. We seem to be living in a world in which we're all drowning in a sea of bullshit. Every day some charlatan pops up with something to rip money from the gullible. Tabloid TV and the internet have proven a boon to these clowns. A favourite ploy is to give it a thin veneer of "science" so that it sounds plausible, and people take it as fact. People who propose these things are just as much crooks as those who try to sell you the Sydney Harbour Bridge in a pub. I think those of us who can see through these sorts of things have a duty to speak up. I'll admit my ignorance of the law, but I was dead serious when I thought that these people should be pursued under the Trade Practices Act.
Anyway, I suspect you're right. I think we should all go back to talking about things like tyres, sparkplugs and brakes; things that I freely admit I know nothing about.

New answer to and older question.
11 months old? Wow. Here is my view on the matter: a rotary engine would actually benefit from the additional heat of the hydrogen and oxygen burning, because it would burn the fuel much better (more completely), and act kinda like a third sparkplug. If I'm wrong, tell me. Has anyone tried using hho in an rx8? Also, so you know, I'm a 14 year old in 8th grade, so a little more constructive criticism and a little less destructive criticism would be appreciated. Thanks

The rotary engine suffers from excessive heat so adding more in would only increase an already problematic area.
Also, if you hadn't read from the previous posts the whole point here is people are selling HHO as an alternate fuel which is supposedly "green". Unfortunately the energy required to get to the point where you can use the "raw materials" for HHO on a car is far more than that required to produce and use the petrol we currently use.
hth.

Ok, I see what you're sayin'. I totally agree with it being very impractical to run the engine only on hho, but in conjunction with normal gasoline, the more complete burn would require less fuel for the same power. I believe highway cruising would really benefit from this. Also, I don't know how much heat burning hydrogen adds, but I think it goes for a more complete burn by actually being in the air mixture. No, I don't have a phd in wankel engineering or thermodynamics or fuels chemistry, so I could be off by a fair margin.

I see what you're saying. Running an engine totally on hho would be very expensive/un-enviromentalist like, but using a small amount of power from the engine to make hho for a more efficient burn. That or you could just ramp the gear ratios way up and hope for the best!

yea better stop there's a bunch of crybabies
Excuse me?
I don't think I played the man at all until the last post, however I saw it as I was the man being played.
No where did I make a statement that I was sure this was real and verifiable I tired to ask questions and post what my research on the internet had lead me to. But with responses like one born every minute and the totally uncalled for smart *** comeback
I think it best I now stop posting about this subject here, obviously it is not something everyone wants to discuss and the subject seems to upset some people.
So I will let it die here.
