Front Mask (Car Bra)
Hey Everyone
Just wondering Mazda OZ dont sell the car bra for the 8 however Mazda US do. In theory i know that the it should fit if i purchased one from over but i wanted to be 100% confident it does before i do. Anybody have any reason to think why it should not fit????
Also anybody installed the ipod adapter in their 8 if so can you give me some information on how its going?

US bra definitely fits like a glove, and looks great with the Rx8 logo on it How do I know? I have one . Bought from rosenthal Mazda web site in the US. Personally, I feel that it is soooo much better than the local bra's available.

I have the factory one and it fits beautifully... There is a picture of my car with the bra fitted someone on this forum (or the .au one) - just use search as Gomez says.. Fitting it on a car that has a Hymee grille can be challenging..
I should mention that they only fit POV packs... So if you have headlamp squirters then forget the genuine Mazda one...

well just an update for everybody, i bought my car bra from carbra Australia (thanks missyK) Very impressed with it fits like a glove, i have the front air dam on my 8 so i thought that the bra would be a little out but to my surprise everything was spot on. Looks pretty good to be honest although im only intending to use it for long drives.

Have to say, as much as I don't like car bra's, one of these jiggers would have come in handy over the weekend.
Mind you, I don't think it would have prevented the new stone chip I accquired on the leading edge of the roof!

i know how it feels Dave.
I had to slow down (ie. by alot of the distance) when i was following Joel for the sky high dinner cruise.
Joel had a different driving line than taka, and he sprayed alot of stones and tree barks.......
i think jr copped a few that night

Just reading some of the posts on Car Bras, would like to know what you guys think of them if they are worth the money? Will they damage the paint? etc.
your thoughts?

I agree like i said it only for long drives i have left it on for today just to wear it in, but yeah just general stuff if you have had one, had any problems with it? fading paint, putting it on taking it off all of that.
btw - Sounds like the drive went pretty good, looking forward to another one so i can attend!

You should see the stone chips already on my expensive yellow mazdaspeed nose! The black plastic contrasts nicely with the yellow paint and in a couple of years' time it'll look like leopardskin or something.
As Missy says, it's a car... and touch-up paint is cheap. Even a respray every 2-3 years won't break the bank.

Otherwise, yes I agree there's little point crying over stone chips but I can see the sense of minimising them on long trips.
But will I ever buy one - doubt it.
