Flywheel question.
How does fly wheel function??
silly question..
but i don't really know nething about cars pretty much.
i've tried to search it on the forums but.. people seems to naturally know this.
And.. how many fly wheel is in the car??
1 or 4...? lol..silly me..
simply...fly wheel seems to be energy storage device... which is heavy rotating disc?? which helps to settle the car... like making it steady??
btw.. people might know this well.. but i recently found it out.
To remove old rego. use hair drier.
I've tried using finger nail remover for several years.... and everytime it made me frustrating. ( took over 15 min! )
One day.. i tried using hair drier... using hot air..( well quite warm? )
to melt down the sticky stuff... use let the old rego sticker be heated for like minute or so...
then it easily comes off.. ( clean! ) This method.. it only took me like 2 minute to do it nicely. probably heaps of people will know this..lol

katana,
Try wikipedia or one of the many other search engines on the web for what a flywheel does, etc. You can search and read at your leisure for this generic mechanical information, thus keeping the forum free for RX8 specific queries.
BTW, the RX8 has only one - as do most cars.
Nice tip on removing old rego stickers but NSW also seems to be making better peel-off stickers these days. I didn't have a problem with my last 2-3.

Mate... just drive your car. It's already good as it is. Why do you want a new flywheel, a new ECU...?. Mazda has spent many years testing the RX8 and what they have offered the consumer is something that should make the keen driver content with the package.
Not sure what you want out of the car.... Are you planning to use your car as a track weapon?. If you are just going to use it mainly on streets - you are wasting your money doing all the mods you intend to put into your RX8.
Having a fast car does not necessarily mean you'll be the quickest driver on track. I'd rather spend the money doing track days with the club or some driver's education program that's floating around. Just have fun!.
The biggest improvement that can be done to your car is changing your brakepads with higher friction co-efficient.
Please go out there and just drive the damn thing... and drive it HARD!!!!.

I've already warned him to vastly increase his knowledge base before he starts mucking about with what Mazda gave him.

Go easy on him guys. I think he's finding his feet in the whole car scene and doing so very publicly. I don't think he means any harm, just a bit naive.

As for mechanical knowledge, I wouldn't assume we're all experts. Indeed, I'm far from it. However, the interweb is a wonderful thing for finding stuff out without having to ask, so make the most of it.
