NZ First time flooded !

My own fault I moved the car from the driveway into the garage and shut it down without letting it get up to operating temp on Saturday - 5.30am this morning it just refused to start. Did a minute with the gas pedal down and then attempted a restart, took three attempts but it finally spluttered into life - Don't think the wife was overly impressed when the engine finally started mind you ...

Lesson learned

flooding

There was a 8 in ham's that kept on getting towed to the dealership, as the owner kept on flooding it, and didn't "Get it".
That if Folooded, and the gas pedal is push down on start up -- and then retryed, it'll (should) start.

A minute is a bit long, that poor starter motor, I myself have only ever done this (the De-flood start) for no longer than 15 seconds.

my 2c worth.

bugger . Good that you got it going again pretty quick - for some people (that don't know what to do) it turns into a nightmare .

I only had it turning over for 20 seconds at a time as I know how hot the starter gets - Think it's a good time to look at the plugs though as I'm just about to hit 50,000 km

A big thanks to the forum once again - Lot's of reading on things that go wrong paid off for me this time so at least I had an idea on how to clear it

Cheers RX8 club !
