Lightbulb **EOI: PROPOSED RX-8 NATIONALS w/end 22-23 October - Wakefield Park (Goulburn, NSW)

Ok, I'm going to run the flag up, and see who is interested and might put their money where their mouth is. For anything to happen beyond this thread, we need commitment and volunteers.

Here is the Wakefield site, which also lists amenities and costs. There plenty of B&Bs and motels around to, and of course, Goulburn Gaol and the Police Academy.... :p

Wakefield Park is available both days that weekend, which is also Indy weekend. I would suggest one day would be more than enough.

There are plenty of wineries around; we could have a bit of a tour and maybe dinner on the Sat night. There are also the sites of Canberra (hot air politicianing...er...balloons) etc.

So, check your diaries, consult with loved ones, and sign on if you are interested

Tim

I suggest Saturday Track day and Sunday to reflect and relax, and heading back to Melbourne Sun evening.

For Melbourne people, I am thinking a trip up to Goulburn on Friday night. Arriving there just passed midnight if you guys are ok with it. That will mean you need to pack everything the night before and be at the Hume Hwy Shell station by 6 pm.

We need a sag wagon to put our bulky items: ie. My semislicks.
BTW: Tim, we need to know what we need to bring: such as if helmet, bonnet tie down and extinguisher is required.

Also estimated cost....

Spare me Taka!!

My kids are now nearly 5 and a bit over 3 and I've been driving them down to the snow and back since the first one was born. It's not that bad if you plan it right and stop from time to time to give them a quick run around (the latter not even necessary for you yet).

Some brandy in their milk also helps :D

Taka...here's a suggestion from a parent (mine are all big now). L'il Miss Taka actually won't know what day is her birthday this year, on account of not having come to terms with calendars yet. You have this year and probably next year as respite, so her birthday party can be on any day you want. That being the case, your issue is with Mrs Taka. Well, I know a wonderful jeweller in Maling Road who can solve any of these problems

Ok... you are costing me a lot to go to National RX-8 day.

I will put that to Mrs. Taka to see her reaction. Finger crossed.

It's been nice knowing you Taka. Any special requests for the funeral or won't there be enough to bury once Mrs Taka is finished?? :p :D

I'd like to go and help where I could.

Of course, I'd like to bring the Twin-Screw RX-8 down there as well!

And renew some old aquaintances. And finally meet Taka too!

What can I do to help, Timbo?

Cheers,
Hymee.

Saying you're up for it is a great start, committing to bring the twin screw is an excellent follow-up (must see what Rotormaster is up to)...and rounding up more to attend is all I need right now

taka -- you always pay for your education....and you were going to spend the money anyway

Great, every1 meet every1 and not meet Kall Stupid exams...
Yea bring on the fire extinguisher now, cuz im Nothing is going right for me this month is it! Full of bad luck.
C'mon Kall...stop pouting :p ...you know you'll need a study break and something like this really clears the mind....there's lots of time, and you can plan it into your schedule (ducks!)

Great Revlover (sorry, dyslexic, KO!)...can you please coordinate the Sydney guys?

Taka/MissRX8 -- Melbourne?

Hymee...Brisvegas and parts north

Adelaide...?! ADELAIDE!?

Sponsors: Mazda's worth the ask, and then there's some vendors around here --- Ezzy....?! EZZZY! Prizes

I can feel a plan...a plan ....slowly coalescing... costing, schedule,...people, prizes.

I reckon make the track day Saturday..with maybe a quick concours d'elegance to start. Dinner Saturday night. Fun nav rally Sunday morning...home

I would like to go, but 14 hours is a long drive... How were you planning to get there Hymee??

I also would prefer a weekend later in the year so that we (the familiy) can include the trip as part of a bigger holiday.. I agree with Revolver about kids and long drives - Miss 5 had a ball on the last 400km cruise day - even fell asleep while her Mother was doing the twisties.. :o

I am in definite anytime after September, but I feel that the current timings aren't agreeing with a few people. Is there a reason for these dates?

I can talk to the Owner of Max Kirwan Mazda if you want Taka? See if he can get us closer to someone at Mazda? He might even come along.

That will be good Andrew.

I will propose this birthday trip to Mrs Taka.

Hope all is good. I am thinking taking Friday off now due to the baby.
