[VIC] Great Ocean Road Cruise 2007
Well here it is, the first event for the year and the first official event for OzRenesis and it includes some of THE best driving in Victoria.
The day is planned for Saturday the 24th Februray 2007.
The planned route is Melbourne->Geelong->Colac->Lavers Hill->Lorne->Melbourne.
The Colac to Lavers Hill segment is ~45 min and is some of the best roads you can drive in Victoria in the RX-8.
The Lavers Hill->Lorne segment will be inland from Lavers Hill to Wye River. And we will be stopping in Lorne for lunch at an Awesome Tavern called Kosta's.
We will be departing meet point (Full details in PM at a later date) at 8:30am and arriving back in at the meet point around 5pm.
You can of course find more info over on the OzRenesis Web Site.
Cheers
Andrew

Domza, firstly its not a members only cruise (small benefits to members though).
Secondly, if you're going to do any extorting, I suggest you extort some fuel money first. A tank of fuel is more than membership and we will probably use just under 3.
Dave, save it for Easter

I can't wait! Fuel consumption should not be too bad. There will be slower traffic on the road and some are hesistant to slip into the "slow vehicle" lane. For those who have attended our cruises in the past... the driving will be done in a safe spirited pace. Think of the "Black Spur" cruise we had last time .

The way I see it we have 2 options:
- We sit at the side of the road out Waurn Ponds somewhere and tag on as you come through.
- You pick us up at either the Target or Bunnings complex carparks at Waurn Ponds.
Depends on whether you want to stop or not. There're food places at the Target complex, but the carpark on a Saturday morning would probably be full!! I don't think there're any eateries at the Bunnings complex, but generally heaps of parking spaces out the back.
Your thoughts?
Cheers,
Rod.
