[NSW] Sydney Run - 18 March
I need to meet up with a fellow forum member to pick up some brake pads he has kindly sourced from the US for me.
I thought it might be a good excuse for a wider meet 'n greet and a quick drive somewhere, so I'm opening up our little meeting to others.
We're meeting at 9am on Sunday 18 March at Hornsby Macca's carpark. Following our little exchange of folding stuff for stopping stuff, we'll be heading to Wiseman's Ferry via Galston, etc.
EDIT: To clarify, it's the Macca's on the Pacific Hwy (number 140-146) at Waitara (from memory it's across the street from Barker College).
There are two other Macca's nearby - one at Westfield Hornsby and one at Mt Colah (also on the Pacific Hwy, cnr Lady Street). Don't go to either of those.
General route will be turning off at Hookhams Corner to go down Galston Rd then up the Old Northern Rd to Wiseman's Ferry. After a pitstop, I'll be heading back the same way to get home but if others want to explore some backroads up that way and maybe do lunch, go for it.
Yes, this has been done by the Sydney crowd a couple of times now but I just want my brake pads and couldn't be arsed dreaming up an alternative run route.
If anybody else wants to come along, please do so. The general plan will be to keep it simple. Get away from Macca's no later than 9.15, drive to Wiseman's, have a cup of coffee or a cold drink there and then drive home (in company for as long as it's convenient).
I plan to be home by lunch time but if others want to make more of a day of it, go for your life. Ditto CB's.
Feel free to indicate whether you're planning to come but I won't be taking the roll or faffing about waiting for people, so don't be late if you're coming and make sure you're fueled up, etc, etc.
Hmm, am I sounding like I don't have the patience I used to when organising cruises? Seriously, hope to see all who can make it but we're keeping this simple folks.

So long as I get my brake pads and have a fun little drive, I don't really mind if I'm fitting in with their important little social lives or not.

Oh yeah, i remember it was like 2 30 - 3pm i fink
Were you just going there or just paasing by??
It was a great experience yeasterday, I've never been there before when raining. My fastest lap was 2:28, almost 30 secs slower than usually
The day was a bit special, there was around 35-40 cars and they split us into 3 groups. i was in the fast group with only 4 cars and then when the others went out, there was maybe 15 cars on the track at once, with very small gaps between them, I got a bit lucky on this one.
there will be some gut photos on http://www.jpmphoto.com.au/ later on today, can't wait to see them
