Sorry I cant help with the race between the silver/gray and black. Mine is Copper Red. :)

Where is Titanium Gray (probably the most common color just based on what I see out on the road), and Black Cherry? We probably need Stormy Blue too if this thread is to run long.

I have to say, almost every RX-8 I see on the road is silver or gray although on occasion I will see one of a different color parked somewhere, but not too often. Then again, I don't see RX-8s very often anyway. :)

It's not a horrible color or anything but it's just not what I would pick for my car, just like I would never pick nordic green. Totally wrong shade of green.

I actually wanted the nortic green for the 05 but I didnt get a chance to buy the car cause my old car broke down and I needed a quick car. So it took me another year to get this one. And I like that it is actually more green than blue, especially since I wanted a green one.

phantom blue reminds me of the mid-90's nissan sentra green/blue...yuck.

Delete and start over, you fail at colors.

Winning Blue always wins. Even though it's been discontinued it will live on in the hearts of all men as a reminder of what once was, and is no more.

In this area (in part due to the recall) I have seen 1 yellow (outstanding), 1 copperred (very unique), 1 black (classy :ylsuper: ), 2 reds (delicious) , 2 blues (counting mine), 2 silvers (respectable) and 4 whites/pearls. Temperature probably dictates color as those from the warmer areas go for the lighter colors and those closer to the cool coast are more colorful. I selected blue because it was more visable in our early morning times when silver and white vanish in the fog and because it seemed to be more acceptable to the wildlife - maybe too acceptable (still trying to get mouse out of car).

I think Phantom Blue is a wonderful color for the 5, but I don't think it cuts it as a RX-8 color. Some colors just work better for certain shapes. For example, I feel Cooper Red is great on a 3, pretty good on a MX-5, but only lukewarm on the RX-8.

No original Shinka Black Cherry Mica. Not only in Cali.... D'oh redo....

If I'd had the money two years ago, I would've got a Nordic Green. Black/white/red/gray are just too common, Winning Blue is too bright for my tastes, and I've never wanted a yellow car, so Nordic Green was my only option from the original colors. If they hadn't discontinued it, I would've had a tough time deciding between it and Phantom Blue.
