It is August 30, And the local Dealer (Tulley) Ad still claims 250HP!
Yeah.. how deceptive now.
1/2 page Ad in Today's Nashua Telegraph reads:
THE ALL NEW 2004 RX-8 IS HERE!
0 Pistons, 4 Doors 6 Speeds AND 250 Horsepower.
PLUS 1280 hairs Standing up in the back of your neck!
------
Can I add, AND a *** **** in the @ss when you discover that there is a LOSS of 75 HP to the wheels!!
Nashua.
NB:
I can post a scan if you want.

If you look up most newspapers, printed articles, websites and word of mouth, most people still believe the RX-8 makes 250hp. That's just the benefit for announcing these numbers way ahead of the car's release and let the number sink into people's head. My friend bet me the RX-8 makes 250hp - I got free lunch. :p

Dealers should all know by now that Madza has edited their numbers... that's an outright decieption.
I can see a monthly trade stating that since the information was sumbitted further back. But a daily paper, with an AD by a Dealer, should be updated.
I second the "SCUMBALLS" nomination.

Ads usually have a lead time of at least two weeks.....probably was submitted before the official word on the hp.

Nah, at the most, it's 5 days. The earliest we send our ads to the papers is Monday afternoon, and that's for an ad that runs Friday. Several go on Thursday, and they run Sat-Sun. They had plenty of time to fix that. The dealer's just being a moron.
