Okay. No doubt the RX8 makes sufficient power for most drivers, whatever the actual horsepower. No doubt the car brakes well and is "fun" to drive and corners well, etc. But I am turning mine in because, simply, it's not worth hanging onto having paid MSRP and now the buyback. Why? Because if I really love this car, I can get a new one -- mine has 1800 miles now -- and probably below MSRP in a month or two. Because gas mileage stinks -- no, I'm doing better than 13 mpg (some posts). I'm averaging 18-19 or so. But this sucks. My former 8 cylinder truck did better than this on highway. IF the RX8 were significantly fast, say like a Porsche 911, the low gas mileage would not matter maybe. But it's really no more a speedster than a Maxima! Indeed, I may go buy an Acura TSX now and some aftermarket items. Heck, 32 mpg on highway looks awfully sweet, in a well handling, luxurious car. And maybe more reliable and better value long term than Mazda. Yes, I like the sound and feel of the rotary -- but it ain't worth 18 mpg or less, MSRP around 27k, and Mazda's marketing antics. Time to move on!

Your opinion, i respect you choice. i'm averaging about 12l per 100km and my driving style isn't vwhat it used to be so i'm a keeper.

true the fuel consumption is a bit higher then what i expected but i drove my GF nuts for 2 months awaiting the car, if i return it i'm dead !! :-)

I had a 3rd Gen RX-7 that averaged 10mpg. I'm getting 15mpg (city) on the RX-8 so for me it's a huge improvement. Either way, I bought the car knowing that rotarys are thirsty. So fuel economy is a non-issue for most of use.
