get well soon little hamster
nzarnow 09-20-2006, 09:08 PM I didn't know he was married and has kids. They said at least he is in stable condition. I love that guy. Hope he makes a full recovery.
YaXMaN 09-20-2006, 09:20 PM That guy is really cool. He just about "steve irwin'ed" himself by doing something he loves, and almost paying the ultimate price. I'm sorry to hear that happened.
Wing5 09-20-2006, 09:36 PM As I posted in another thread...
His condition was listed in the article as critical earlier but thankfully it's now stable.
Damn that sucks :tear: Good luck to Hammy...
i don't mean to offend any1 but I'd like to put my 2 cents in. Something like this was bound to happen. The 3 of them (Clarkson, May, & Hammond) love to go wild and over the top with their scripts as of late. This last season alone they burnt down a tent & RV trailer, Hammond raced that skydiver in a 2.5 ton, 512 bhp, Cayanne Turbo S on that rally road using high speed road tires, and Hammond (again) rolled that van in the "police stig vs. van chase." I confess I'm much like him, I'll try/dare anything at least once, and I doubt he would regret doing anything he has done, I'm just saying this doesnt come as a surprise.
lesper4 09-20-2006, 09:45 PM too bad, i like those guys! hope he gets well.
Rhawb 09-20-2006, 10:12 PM Crap, hope he gets well soon - hope to see him back to presenting on Top Gear real soon too!
BlueSky 09-21-2006, 12:29 AM Sad. I hope this doesn't delay any Top Gear goodness.

Shinka-Dono 09-21-2006, 08:19 PM Terrible news.
"Doctors said Hammond's injury gave them "cause for concern" but added that they were "reasonably optimistic" he would make a good recovery."
Hopefully he'll have a full recovery.
CarAndDriver 09-21-2006, 08:27 PM Scary stuff.
Get better soon.
DOMINION 09-21-2006, 08:41 PM Ahh man. Get well soon!

chrism 12-31-2006, 10:40 PM see there is good news sometimes!
CarAndDriver 01-01-2007, 01:42 PM Well he's wearing a lot of clothes so you can't see where they cut into him. He is also limping when he walks in. Without a scratch is a bit of a stretch. But glad to see him up and about.

Nice find!! Glad to see recovery has gone well. As much as I love racing/speed I'd never set foot in that jet powered POS let alone attempt a LSR in it.
N rider89 01-28-2007, 10:58 PM video of the crash. (really)
