ok bear with me as I 'think out loud' and, as such, welcome your opinions on it :D
As it currently stands, my Protege has been wonderful for fulfilling what I NEED in a car. It has been reliable, comfortable, seats 4 (even 5 in a pinch), and able to carry just about all the cargo I've asked it to hold. It even takes the corner quite well with the minor suspension mods I've done to it thus far. The perfect commuter car, if you may (it's even automatic! )
The FC fulfills my manual transmission, ROTARY engine NEED (yes I NEED my regularly scheduled rotary engine fix ;) ), and it's been pretty good to me (though I've already spent over $1200 in repair/maintenance costs on it in the 10 months I've had it).
But I WANT AN RX-8, really REALLY bad. I know it will fulfill just about everything I NEED from a car (except the smaller cago capacity and the lack of a 5th person seating, trunk not withstanding :p ), PLUS the fun of the MOST POWERFUL stock NATURALLY ASPIRATED rotary engine ever produced and sportscar-like suspension, not to mention being the center of the attention on the road for the next few months :D
this is killing me! my left brain says if it ain't broke, don't fix it (and your bank account will love you for it), yet my right brain says enjoy it while you can afford to (before something called family eats into my car-fun fund)
what should I do?!?!?!?
