My wife and I are trying to deside between a 2004 Mustang Cobra convertible, 2005 Mutang GT and an 2005 RX-8.

We have two girls so the room is a big plus in the RX-8. Also the handling, and the fact it runs better on 87 gas.

We want to wait until 2005 so they can work out the bugs.

It would be great if they added power but that probably will not happen until 06. (Can't wait that long).

My wife's father worked for Ford for decades and thus we get the A plan. I know right now you can't do any plan on the RX-8 but I am hoping next year you will. The dealer told me you can't even do 0% fininacing.

Anyhow, are you guys buying 04, 05, or waiting for more power?

well i already have mine but a couple of notes. the 2005 mustang gt will be a 2 seater only. the manual of the rx-8 states octane no lower than 89 not 87.

I thought some people on here were running 87, maybe I read wrong.

I think the concept for the Mustang GT was a two seater but the actual production car will be 2+2.

Anyhow, I think there is more exclusivity with the RX8 and another reason not to take the Mustang is that it will be in the first year of its remodel. I don't want problems which is the reason we decided to wait on the 8.

Props to the thread which was started on what's right with the car. Outweighs the what's wrong.

I've always waited until at least the second model year. Thus my 1980 and 1987 RX-7's. Getting a real handle on the power and gas mileage issues will be quite helpful in making a decision.

But it is getting harder and harder to wait after reading everyone's reviews. And I could really use 4 seats rather than two.
