I just moved to Austin 2 weeks ago and I live in Steiner Ranch, very close to 620 and 2222. Now I just need to find out where the best dealer is so I can take my car for the latest recall.

Where at 620 / 2222 do you work? I work in the RiverPlace office park across from 3M. I only drive my 8 a couple times a week; otherwise I'm in my Mazda 4x4 truck.

 

No ****! That's exactly where I will be working too! I drive my 8 all the time. The other car only uses race gas so it's been removed from the daily driver rotation.

 

I don't have any other experience with the other dealerships in Austin....

but Mazda South has taken care of my car really good...

they did the recall yesterday on mine... IT PASSED

they upgraded the PCM, cleaned the car, filled it up on gas (i had none) and gave me an oil change and rental car for the day for free.

The only other mazda dealership for you will be burnet road before 183....

or in georgetown... that is Premier Mazda I believe..

 

The closest dealership to you from 2222 is Mazda North. Take 2222 down to Burnet and turn Left at the HEB. I've had good service there.

I'm in building 2. I'm parking in the garage and there is always a White Pearl 8 that I park close to. Wonder whose it is?

 

Hmmm...haven't seen that one. I usually get to work about 5:45 because I have to work with developers in Israel. I'll be on the lookout.

 

My company is opening a new office in Austin. I have an opportunity to move down there, but thought I would see what you Austin people think. I like Austin for many reasons, but it's always good to hear from some people that live there. Any thoughts?

it's not too bad really, lots of stuff to see and do, without having to go too far or pay a ton of money. But this place is a heck of lot more liberal than most (if not all) the other cities in Texas being a university town etc. and being the capital on top of that. I could definitely sense a different vibe when I was in Dallas for a week, lots of bumper stickers and unhappy people in this place compared to there lol

 

Well thanks for the heads up. It's looking more and more like I am going. It started off as a shock this morning, now it's happenening fast! We'll see how it goes.

Just wanted to let you know that there have been several vehicles broken into in the parking deck by our building recently. Keep your eyes peeled for a 4 door silver chevy (model not known) that has been seen lurking about suspiciously in the early morning hours. One of our folks tried to get a tag number, but he drove off and had no rear plate visible.
