So in the accessories brochure, it says the color-keyed chapparal/black and red/black shift knobs are for automatic only. Anyone know why, or does anyone know if this can be made to fit the MT shifter anyway? I think it's kinda stupid that they offer everything but the color-keyed shifter knob on both models... Thanks.

I haven't seen the automatic shift knob, is it rotor shaped too? I personally like the aluminum knob in the MT, but I guess a color keyed knob would be something others may want.
If it's not possible, I'm sure that sometime in the not-so-distant future, some aftermarket company will fashion one if demand is high enough.

I tried to install the shifter knob available as an accessory for the automatic in my MT and it would not fit. The holes are different physical sizes - I even removed the chrome bevel at the bottom of the auto shifter - no fit.

thx for the info trip. I thought maybe you had to remove that chrome bezel or something too - I ws thinking of trying the same thing... Guess it's no luck any way you try. Kinda dumb to design the knob that way... Ah well.

yeah - it's rotor shaped, just like the MT one, but without the gear layout on the top, and with a chrome band around the bottom.

Has anyone purchased and installed the back-lit light-up shifter available from Japan?
