Man how fast is the 350z gonna be now with the updated VQ? The updated '07 G35 is already doing 60 in 5.2sec. The 350 could be sub 5!!!

5.2?

...now I really need to go with FI

BlueSky

yeah 5.2, read it in the latest Car and Driver. And think about this, the car weighs ~3500 pounds!!!! Imagine what the lighter 350 could do with that engine.

Oh, and the model tested was the 4-door. The coupe was a bit quicker as well in the previous generation.

Yup, the 8 is getting left further and further behind. Will take at least $5k to keep up with one now.

I could give a shit how they do it, as long as they can get more power and torque, without effecting the mpg.

Wouldn't that warrant a TSB for Perpetual Flooding? :dunno: :Wconfused :scratchhe

cant really see it as a joke if we don't know the type of person the guy posting it is.

although. any car can have more than the standard seating capacity. it's just against the law.

How many seats could a 350Z seat if a 350Z could seat 2?

Have you ever seen the car? He might be confused with the G35. It has 4 seats. The Z only has 2.

Just out of curiousity, what made you consider it?

something different ive had an 8 for almost 3 years. The Z was on the short list last time i bought a car...it has improved considerably since while the 8 is about the same so the 8 has lost a few spots in the new car searches.

Ahhh. The 06 is definitly worth it when comparing it to the 03-05's. The changes for this year are subtle, but very nice. All of the other bugs seem to be fixed also. And if the 07 has a slight bump in power (new VQ block), then it will be even better.

I really like the Z also, but I hate that I see a million of them driving around down here. Nice cars, but I like to stand out rather than have what everyone else drives.

And you think by driving a GTO that you are standing out? :p:

Maybe not to you, but when I see another GTO it really stands out. I see 350z's and mustang GT's and M3 and now more and more rx-8's even every day. I have seen a total of 3 other GTO's.

To me they stand out and to other people as well because I always get questions about it and people staring.

GTO has a nice engine, but to me, anyone who buys it is buying into a car that has no background, and no heritage. It's the GTO name slapped on a random car then pushed by marketing droids. It's plain looking and disappointing that they choose the easy way rather than developing something good.

Don't get me wrong - I like more unique cars, especially ones that are not everywhere on the road, but the only reason the GTO isn't everywhere is because it's a failure as a car. It's heavily discounted, but you'll get a fast heavy car without the mustang badge.

The GTO,like the 8 and so many other cars on the market today aren't going to appeal to everyones tastes. We all buy, sell, trade and modify our cars for various reasons...we want a little more of this or that or just something different. That's what's great, you have a pretty wide variety to choose from.

The new G35 is nice as will be the coupe when it comes out next year.

the 350z has 2 seats, the g35 has a backseat which holds 2 midgets. the g35 looks almost exactly the same as the 350z
