.............stablilty control and traction control.........

I've got a sports package and I hate this. Every time I get in the car I have to hit the DSC button and hold it for like 7 seconds.........to get rid of the things that Mazda deems is necessary to my survival..................and I don't like it............

I enjoy driving and particularly enjoy finding the limits of my car. Do I just have to live with this?????????/

speaking of which, time and time again we will see someone ask exactly what you just asked, and in 2 months they post again saying they wrecked.

For daily drive, it could save your life under many circumstances

^ I think, it has already saved my life once. Was going around a corner too fast while raining and the back end stepped out and their was marsh on the side it was stepping out to and the traction control kicked in and straightened me out. Very very lucky to have it. Keep it on.

Here's a thought. Get to know the limits of your car and drive just below DSC/TC engagement. You can still have plenty of fun AND stay safe at the same time.

Just some friendly advice from a fellow owner who does NOT believe DSC/TC are evil.

I should re-edit. Yes I fully realize the benefits of DSC and traction control. I don't mean to make it sound like I don't appreciate what it does.

But if you're trying to drive a car to its extremes (and you can't realistically slide the car thru the corner with all that stuff turned on: I don't even mean extremes, just letting the car do what it wants to do).............can I turn this stuff off without having to do it every single time I crank the engine????

So what's the big deal? just be happy that you can leave it on when you want and turn it off when you want......... nuff said.
