translation: the rx-8 now has a super cool new leather package called the skrinka. the sand leather is rumored to increase 0-60 times by four seconds due to their lightweight and smooth surfaces.

the upgraded automatic is really an upgrade, but the rest is mindless fluff.

I just find this interesting

Advancements to the AT models
- 6-speed automatic transmission
The adoption of the 6-speed AT, increased by two speeds over the base 4-speed, enabled the overall gear ratio range to be widened and the gaps between each gear to be reduced to achieve a better close ratio. This results in a more powerful, smoother acceleration and reduces shift shock, while improving noise reduction at high speeds and increasing fuel efficiency.

- Adoption of the 6-port engine
The 6-port engine that up to now has only been used in the RX-8 Type S (6-speed manual transmission model) has been adopted for the 6-speed automatic transmission version, which until now mounted only a 4-port engine. This development pushes up the power output by increasing intake efficiency as well as further enhancing the torque produced at high revs--one of the special features of the rotary engine.

Does the 6 speed AT get 2 oil coolers or only 1 as the previous 4 SPEED AT ?

Just wondering if Mazda has addressed the problem with the Automatics oil cooler etc.

More power is always nice. (I was itching for more with mine when I had one). But generally speaking, more power = more fuel. With the fuel economy being not great already in the stock car, I just can't see that Mazda going down that road. I mean if you were Mazda and wanted to promote the car, you would seek other avenues. Hence the RX8 Revolution (cosmetic changes) and research into the hydrogen paths.

You'll always be able to get 3rd party upgrades, but I'd be amazed to see Mazda produce them.
