Guys, it seems like every thread that's launched about the car, performance, gas mileage, comparisons, etc. goes for about two pages before it turns into a series of personal attacks between self-absorbed lameheads. It's gettting to where just about any otherwise-interesting thread becomes utterly useless wading through the cr@p. So how 'bout this, if you want to spout off about how ignorant someone is, or how much smarter you are than all the rest of the world, then DO IT HERE!! And keep the rest of our threads for their intended pupose.

Please only respond if you have something to say about my ancestry (I'm Polish) or some other wise-ass comment. Don't forget the subject of this thread. :(

For everyone else, if you see a thread getting ruined by these lunkheads please post the URL to this thread and get them to move off the car-related threads.

"No matter what I do to my car (baby it or flail it) I get around 16-something mpg. Other folks have said no matter what they do, they get around 21."

Then you pop up and automatically assume my poor mileage is because I'm speeding? Read the post!!! And how do you attribute the good gas mileage of others, when they have said they're driving this like a sports car and still exceeding 21 mpg. Get off your close-minded, pre-conceived notion, start analyzing the data that's coming in, and help us figure out what's going on. Otherwise, find somewhere else to spout your dogma.

First of all you worthless piece of s#!t (sticking with the subject of this thread as you requested :) ), my comments were not directed at you at all. My comments were a generalization of the comments on the aforementioned thread. If you "read my post", you would see that I was commenting on how most people attributed the lousy gas mileage on acceleration, shift points, etc. I was just bringing in another possible culprit.

Look, I'm sorry ANYONE is getting bad gas mileage in their car. Some may actually have mechanical issues that hopefully can be corrected. We all just need to look at the big picture.

Okay, I'll play. I have stepped away from this forum for weeks because the quality of too many posts was poor. The commonalities among the garbage: uninformed, arrogant, antagonistic, hostile, poor grammar, and it wasn't fun anymore. I couldn't resist a few times and did jump it, but overall I've not been following the forum as closely as I used to.

A year ago it was different. Friendly, informative, helpful, fun. Who are these newbies that have brought down the quality of our forum?

I too am thrilled with my car. I took it for a 300 mile drive yesterday and I can't imagine a car handling any better (even a Porsche or Ferrari). I got 18.99 mpg (my trip was about half city and half 75mph highway).

Since this thread is about flaming, let me add that you have to be a stupid fool to want to buy......no, never mind. I just can't do it.

Honestly, I like to do this little spreadsheet decision making tool that lists my selection criteria down the side, with my choices across the columns on the top. I then weight each selection criteria, rate each car 1-10, and do the math. For me, the 8 came out way on top.

But different people would value other selection criteria, would weight them differently and come to a different conclusion. Fine by me but don't come to this forum and attack me (us) for our choice.
