Anyone listened to any good audio books lately? I've got to select two books for my subscription to audible.com. Use 'em or lose 'em!

Last one I listened to during long commutes was Contact, narrated by Jodie Foster herself. It was really well done.

I just finished listening to "Wicked: The Life & Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" by Gregory Maguire. Fantastic!

Really? That was the one and only audio book I actually put down in disgust about 60% of the way through. It was so BORING. And Elsie was just plain irritating. I hated that book. I still don't get why it's so popular.

That sounds like the closest thing to hell on earth to me.

I rather enjoyed it. Then I bought the sequel "Son of a Witch", which was read by the author. HATED IT!

Authors should NEVER read their own material - they're universally bad!

Whoa whoa whoa - have you "read" The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - read by Douglas Adams himself? Fan-bloody-tastic.

If you visit Monterey, California - Steinbeck's Cannery Row makes a perfect read!
