So I got bumped from behind in my car a while back and was able to get a used rear bumber from a vender on this forum. The bumper had some minor scratches in it and so I thought I would order some paint and attempt to paint it myself.

How much paint do you think it would take to cover the rear bumper, excluding the bottom black area? I was thinking of leaving that black as it is.

do you think the 12.5 oz spray can would be enough to cover it?

Dont forget to use a good adesion promoter & a flex additive.

I don't mind trying things out and making mistakes and then learning from them.
It is called experience, the only way one can get it.

Like I posted above, it is a used bumper that I got for cheap.

I have an air compressor paint sprayer that I could use instead of a can, so I could buy the paint in a jar.

Look again this is a question not a statement.

Get a pint and you will reduce it 1:1 to a quart of ready for spraying paint.
Oh, and buy it locally. It should be cheaper. Mine was.

Spray Can! This is a very bad idea.. Please dont spray paint your car! You may not understand this but automotive paint is mixed with catalyzer (hardner) this makes the paint durable over time. Spray paint does not contain hardner or you would only be able to use the can once then it would turn hard. I also noticed that your car is silver. Silver is one of the most difficult colors to match with real paint, because of the metallic. I gurantee you that if you spray paint your bumper it will be way off in color, and break apart over time. GURANTEED!

Have you used mixed to match car paint in spray can before?
Well, it is not very appropriate for a large parts like bumpers, but if you take your time and sand between coats it works.

Your right! I must have no idea what I am talking about. I have been painting 2-4 cars a day for 7 years! I have used hundreds of the best and worst paint systems on the market! I have painted coustom cars and bikes for shaquille onielle, arlen ness, and bruce rossmier to name a few! I am more knowledgable about paint and paint products than any other member on this forum! Sorry. Didn't know that at the time.
But I still think you can use a spray can with a good result, but needs more time and sanding. And PPG in spray can is not "one time use" paint.
