View Full Version : Xbox 360 Games.
Photic 08-08-2006, 01:14 PM I did some searching and nobody has really talked about the games all that much (not like there has been much to talk about anyway)
I noticed the xbox-live thread. Here. (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=94346)
I'm bored and I figured I would bring it up.
I watched the trailer for Dead Rising a while ago and thought it looked like some mindless fun. After playing the demo I've realized it is, and I think it's great. It should be a good game for getting some frustrations out. It should be in my hands tomorrow or the next day :)
Street Fighter 2 came out on live too. It's alright, it's a pretty damn close (if no perfect) port, the controls are a little iffy at times, but the game itself has all of the old flaws the old version had (terrible collision detection which is why I say it's close to a perfect port, imperfections and all). I haven't played it online yet.
BlueEyes 08-08-2006, 01:18 PM Forza Motorsports 2.
/End thread.
Detroit RX8 08-08-2006, 01:28 PM I WAS playing MLB 2k6 and Prey.. Then my XBOX dies of a hardware failure.. Currently in Texas getting fixed (most likely replaced). Seems like a lot of people are having this specific type of failure too from the XBOX forums..
chr1s 08-08-2006, 01:32 PM Prey was great on the pc.
dead rising is hell fun. Have you found the katana yet? hmmmmm, gorey goodness.
theCATALYST 08-08-2006, 02:25 PM Lesse:
Fight Night 3 ~~~ Great (my fav)
King Kong ~~~ Nice graphics, games sucked
DOA 3(I think 3) ~~~ Great game....good musical ending.
Gun ~~~ Ok game, didnt like the ending
LostAngel 08-08-2006, 02:39 PM I just beat Prey last night after getting it saturday. It was a good game. I cannot wait until Forza 2 comes out.
UFGator12 08-08-2006, 02:49 PM I got Fifa World Cup 2006 on Sunday. I love it. It's a great game for multiplayer too because their is no split screen. I also love playing Halo 2, NFS:MW, and Call of Duty 2. I'm going to buy Saints Row when it comes out as well.
cornrowdpantha 08-08-2006, 02:53 PM PDZ was a disappointment... I was looking forward to that game for a long time and it didn't live up to my expectations.
Hitman is crazy fun. It's fun in an aggrevating, infuriating sorta way, but it's all good...
Ghost Recon might be the best game I've played for the 360
Waiting very desperately for Gears of War...
chr1s 08-08-2006, 02:53 PM woo hoo Saints Row!
(I'm not biased because I work for them or anything)
Photic 08-08-2006, 03:14 PM Haha I love the rag-doll physics in Saints Row. When you hit people with a car I can't stop laughing, especially when you some how slow down just the right amount and they land on the back of your car after they have flown forward like 100 feet. I like the driving feel a little more than GTA as well. You feel a little more in control. It's also cool to see people fly through the windshield.
Rhawb 08-08-2006, 03:24 PM Only problem I have with Saints Row is that I can't light up the tires on RWD cars to keep them sliding, the car just kind of dies out and loses momentum after using the ebrake. So far, that's about the only thing I'd change. I especially love the hand-to-hand(-to-foot) fighting system.
HolyCross05 08-08-2006, 04:10 PM PGR3 on XBox Live is a great time. The sound and graphics on this game are unreal. I just love walking around my garage and staring at my ferraris and lambos.
RENESIS_NEENJA 08-08-2006, 04:25 PM Elder Scrolls: Oblivion anyone!?
Photic 08-08-2006, 04:38 PM I played Oblivion for a while but then I just wandered away from it. I haven't played it in a while. It is a good game though :)
Rhawb 08-08-2006, 11:49 PM I like those Elder Scrolls games, but they're just TOO unstructured for me. I mean, nonlinear stories are great and all, but I'd like at least a tiny bit of guidance. I haven't played Oblivion yet, but if it's anything like Morrowind, I'd just wander around wondering what I'm supposed to be doing for about a week and then quit playing.
Photic 08-09-2006, 09:55 AM Oblivion does have a main quest that you can go on and mini quests. They allow you to pretty much drop them and pick them back up again later too.

I am playing Oblivion, it is kinda like Morrowind... the thing is just start killing shit and leveling up, and you will run into a quest... I play it on a PC with a dual sli video card setup though... <-- console h8r.
DerrickWilliams 08-09-2006, 10:14 AM MotoGP is pretty sick.
toxin440 08-09-2006, 10:37 AM the last console I owned was a N64 till i bought an xbox360 2 weeks ago, its fun, PGR, Full Auto and Burnout Revenge are the shit.
I had more fun hacking it though to play burned games :) and then raping blockbuster for discs to dump and burn. It's been my project for the past week to get the thing put back together and looking stock with all my modifications, i'm just waiting on parts.
DerrickWilliams 08-09-2006, 11:01 AM i wish i had a cclue as to how to hack into this thing.
delrmx01 08-09-2006, 11:19 AM PGR3 on XBox Live is a great time. The sound and graphics on this game are unreal. I just love walking around my garage and staring at my ferraris and lambos.
LOL... I do the same $hit in my garages, walk around and take pics. Did you download the Style Pack? They have an M3 and M6.
As for 360 games, I kinda got into Chromehounds. It's slower than Mech Warrior and gives it a more tactical game play. The on-line play is efin amazing, I started a squad with a couple of folks from work, they were a little hesitant on getting the game, but after experienced some of the on-line play--they were sold.
I'm also waiting for GOW and Mass Effect-- the walk-through demo for Mass Effect is insane, gameplay sounds promising with all the interaction.
Steakboy42 08-09-2006, 11:20 AM wow, no one has mentioned condemned. Best looking game I have seen so far. And Its quite original. Not to mention scary as hell. But then again it was made by the same people who did F.E.A.R. Thats my second favorite PC game. My favorite is Half-Life 2.

RENESIS_NEENJA 08-09-2006, 11:25 AM I played Oblivion for a while but then I just wandered away from it. I haven't played it in a while. It is a good game though :)
Haha. Me too, I put in maybe 15 hours or so.. and haven't been back since. Awesome game though, I need to get back into it.
UFGator12 08-09-2006, 11:31 AM PGR3 on XBox Live is a great time. The sound and graphics on this game are unreal. I just love walking around my garage and staring at my ferraris and lambos.
Oh ya, I have that game too.
HolyCross05 08-09-2006, 11:54 AM LOL... I do the same $hit in my garages, walk around and take pics. Did you download the Style Pack? They have an M3 and M6.
No I don't have the style pack. I actually haven't played it in a while. I used to spend days playing offline, so when I played other players online it was easy finishing at the top. But after I bought my 8 I stopped playing for a couple of months, and when I logged back on I got owned.
Walking around and taking pics is a blast! What I did was put all cars of the same make on the same garage, all of the lambos in one garage, and all the ferraris in another, etc. It's the only time I'll be around so many Ferraris and have the chance to take pictures from any angle.
Huey52 08-09-2006, 12:06 PM Chromehounds is addictive. Like an RX-8 with firepower. ;)
delrmx01 08-09-2006, 03:56 PM ^^Yeah, and slow too...ha ha ha.
BlueEyes 08-09-2006, 04:00 PM THe physics in PGR3 are terrible. I can't play that game for that reason alone. Everything else is nice.
Photic 08-14-2006, 05:56 PM I've played Dead Rising for a little while and it's a little more difficult than I thought it would be, doesn't mean that's bad. The time window in which you get do to things is what does it.
Rhawb 08-14-2006, 07:29 PM THe physics in PGR3 are terrible. I can't play that game for that reason alone. Everything else is nice.
I thought the physics were well done. They weren't realistic by any means, but they gave predictable and easy to pick up controls. Since it IS an arcade racer at heart, that was all I was really looking for in this title. It's fun and drifty - good game to play over a beer with some friends.
dead rising is pretty crazy. The game gets easier, but it's made to be run through multiple times while gaining exp. I'm level 11 now and I've completed like 1 case. My brother said he finished the 72 hour mode today. He said it gets really intense later on with all the running from place to place while NOT killing zombies.
I just cant help it. I must kill zombies.
chr1s 08-14-2006, 11:28 PM dead rising is really fun. One of these days I'm gonna have to break down and actually buy a 360, but first, I must heed the calling of the wii.
nzarnow 08-15-2006, 03:48 AM Do you think Dead Rising will ever come out for the PC? Would own it in a second!

That's what I've been doing too.
I've also been holding some books in my extra slots so that I can gain PP more quickly. Like the horror book, the picture op book and the picture PP book. They help a ton.
