Since the missing horsepower has been the main topic thought I would change the subject.

The email I got said this "I don't know if you are familiar with "noodling", but it is the term for the way Oklahoma guys catch their fish. These guys wade out into the river and feel for holes in the river floor. When they find a catfish hole, they stick their hands in there and pull out these monster catfish. Here are some pictures of what they come out with. Think about these dudes the next time your swimming in the river."

how is that thing not even struggling? shot it with a tranq gun first? perhaps i don't know the first thing about catfish behavior...

catfish is pretty tasty though, you could feed a batallion with that thing. very impressive =)

Mockngbrd is that automodellesta in your sig, i don't remember the 8 being in there, i remember that game was sweet, but the floaty controls were unbearable

Damn that is one ugly fish. Gotta wonder too, as lefuton said: Are you sure all you did was stick your hand in a hole and pull that out? Seems too easy. I've stuck my hands in holes before and never came up with anything remotely like that, thank goodness. :D

yup.. its from AutoModellista... there is RX8 in it....
havta agree with u on the lousy floaty (wierd) control system....
But i have more fun just dressing up the cars then actually racing them... if i wanna race, i play GT4/Concept

Cat fish is obviously dead or sedated...

...yes, the cranky clairinet player is right, a fish like that would shake off a 300lb man's arms without a wink. i have no idea how something like that (must be a +70lb fish??) would get caught barehanded, unless it just didn't care.

gamers, for what it's worth, Automodellista is a drift-racing game (the touge tracks in the mountains, and the retardedness of the game dynamics), which is why your rear end breaks loose with no trouble at all. also, note that the tyres in that game are also really super-fake: slicks have more grip than road tyres, but are very on-and-off with the grip. road tyres have lower limits, but are much easier to contorl.

i like AutoModellista because the FD3S is the fastest Japanese car in there ;) (blows everything away with power-to-mass)

actually, its perfectly possible to catch a fish of that size bear handed...heres how they do it

wander around ont he bottom (usually in places theyve planted to attract catfish as a home for catfish, like barrels or something)
then they slip their hand in there and wait for the fish to engulf it (hurts a little at first) once the fish has given your hand (and most of your arm) a good swallowing, you grab it by its insides and wrestle it from the water

it you get your other hand through its gills (grabbing it by the gill plates) you can control its head, if you can keep it from turning its head youll get him, otherwise (if hes big enough) hell drown ya, and probably eat you, too

if he can turn his head and swim away from you, youre pretty much done lol

many stories of guys tying gaff hooks to their arms and diving 20ft or more for monsters of over a hundred pound...not too many have come back alive...

Saw this activity on some TV show a couple years back. He's telling the truth, but that fish does seem like he's perfectly ok with being pulled from his hole.
