Dave over at Accolade was nice enough to send me over some prototype eyelids that will be hitting the market soon. I was able to score them for free as long as I was willing to paint them myself. The end result is pretty good in my eyes. :mdrmed:

I painted them myself with paint bought off of www.paintscratch.com - wow, you'd think I was a walking advertisement for Accolade and Paintscratch! :worship:

I'm not sure what they were made of - though I know they WEREN'T made of vinyl. They were quite rigid and molded to the shape of the lights. They are adhered with some exterior double stick tape. I taped every square inch of the eyelids so they aren't going anywhere.

they are made of fiberglass.....i know i got a set too and have it at the paint shop.....im getting my set tomorrow....yours look a little different than mine though....less aggressive for some reason

Post some pics when you get them on - I'd be curious to see the difference if there is any. In the very least we can keep all these Accolade eyelids in one thread.

I was starting to wonder if Mugatu actually had a 8. In all the years I've seen him clowning, I've never seen his ride. Haha, I'm just messing. The eyelids do look pretty good though, can't wait to see them on more 8s.

yeah that would surely make the eyelids look like shit. you can't brush on car paint on wide areas like you're painting your living room. sheesh.

not at all. the lids clear the lenses and does not effect the lighting at all.

i'm torn. part of me wants to, but another part says that keeping a first year 8 without a warranty could be trouble. but i'm way under miles so I may do it.

Yup........same here. Bought mine Jan '04.............hitting 20k soon. I did however add a few things, such as new rotors, catback, and factory appearance package. I hope to keep her........but I am an impulse buyer.....and that new camaro is calling me.
