gh0st 08-06-2006, 02:02 PM better second time around
starsky1231 08-06-2006, 03:36 PM Can anyone tell me how drifting got started? Still seems like a sport/demonstration thought up by tire companies.
Thanks.
mysql101 08-06-2006, 03:39 PM you could learn a lot from this guy.

Why I refuse to show off when my friends egg me on.. Peer pressure usualy ends badly! lol.. hilarious and scary clip (scared for the cars on the other side of the road jesh!)
mysql101 08-06-2006, 05:31 PM best quote from the comments on that video:
Mustangs are made to go forward only. Please, don't turn the front wheels or this happens.
MotherGoose 08-06-2006, 06:06 PM Tilm, not bad for starting out. You made a couple of good rotations. Glad to see you didn't try this in open traffic. Two things:
1. I hope you had the permission of the trucking yard owners
2. You need to get your specators and there cars a hell of alot farther away from the "track" next time you do this.
It doesn't take much for something to go wrong very quickly and have someone else seriously hurt.
BlueSky 08-06-2006, 06:10 PM What mods do you have on your car?
XDEEDUBBX 08-06-2006, 06:15 PM you need a hell of a lot more practice, but too bad.. plus, thats the only way to learn.
lesper4 08-06-2006, 06:17 PM looking pretty good, what rims do you have on your car?
Terrance26 08-06-2006, 06:20 PM Had to be some airhead in a damn mustang to do something that stupid.
RX8SaxMan 08-06-2006, 06:53 PM Anyone seen this vid?

Pretty nice drift around that corner...of course if he's on the stock Potenzas that drift probably wasn't intentional ;)

Im_DANomite 08-06-2006, 10:38 PM practice your steering
I know i need practice thats what im doin. Its not that easy and its hard to get a good angle in the RX8. I tried it in my friends mustang and it looked alot better and was a hell of alot easier. The 240 is the easiest car to drift once you get power in it, but im stickin to the RX8 i'll get it. that was only my second night of practice and watching the video helped alot also.
1 i have Advan ver 2
2 we asked all the driver that came in and out they didnt care
3 it state property im not asking them
4 i live in south Fla theres not many open places with out traffic
5 They weren't that close but i think your right
Razz1 08-08-2006, 01:28 AM What's your suspension set up?
What wheels?
Just go watch Drift Bible. You can download it from any torrent sites. That guy is nasty and shows you how to drift.
JB_Rotary 08-08-2006, 01:51 PM What tires are you using? I have been using stock since I can get them for cheap. Also lightly throwing the steering wheel seems to speed up the countersteer making it easier to get a higher angle.
I have the drift bible and the monkey mans how 2 drift video, which is where i got the idea to do figure 8's by connecting two donuts. It helps to learn when to counter steer. OK heres my setup in the video i was using 225/40/18 federal tires, i have eibach springs pro kit, Agency power rear sway and rear end links, SR pulleys HKS hi power cat back, K n N drop in filter. I just put in my AUTOEXE front and rear strut braces (check out my D.I.Y. thread to see them) The car feels unbelievable in the turns now so it will be interesting this weekend when i go again.
My biggest problem is holding a good angle i tend to spinout. the video I was only in 1st gear, when i practice turns im in the top of 2nd gear.
allmotorRX8 08-08-2006, 09:42 PM track time
JB_Rotary 08-09-2006, 01:13 PM Are you runnin gon ly a rear sway bar and no front? How is that for normal driving? Do you AutoX?
