Mazda roadside assistance ROCKS! Yesterday on my way to my second job I took a prety big pothole. From the impact and sound I immediateley knew something was wrong, and shureley enogh 7 seconds later the TPMS came on. So I stop on the emergency lane expecting a blowout. SURPRISE! a f...ing broken wheel, and I mean from side to side. That sucks, 5 minutes later another car stops beside me, same story broken wheel from side to side. 10 minutes later a pickup truck with a broken wheel and a flat.
They all had spares so I halp them chande their tires and they go on their way meanwhile I'm thinking This sucks I'm stranded and all the other car's in my fammily their wheels won't fit on the 8. Finnaly I call the police and mazda roadside. The police patrol wasn't available so they tell me to take pictures and go to the police station to file the report. Finally mazda roadside gets there and they agree to take me to my dealer (even when tere where 3 other dealers nearer).
I left the car in the dealer and borrowed a car from my uncle until mine is fixed. Went to work and when I got out at 11 PM went back to take pictures of the pot hole. (I was half expecting to find a crew already fixing it just so I couldn't file the report). After that I filed the report but have to wait till this afternoon so I can file with the transportation authority so that the might mabe sometime before 2010 reimburse me.

Iwill post pictures later today.

Last september, I hit this beauty at 45 MPH:

http://www.mazdamaniac.com/images/misc/hole/Hole.jpg

http://www.mazdamaniac.com/images/misc/hole/Damage%20Detail.jpg

It was unmarked and the only indication that there was anything gong on there was the back hoe parked next to it (which was a worthless warning sine this is on the other side of a hill).

Destroyed all four rims and tires and bent my lower control arms. Those are forged rims, BTW. A cast rim would have exploded.

The state paid for all ($3k) of it except the front left tire that they claimed could be "safely reused".

The day after I hit ts, a lady in a mini-van aparently hit the same hole and flew into the ditch next to it, critically injuring her child in the back seat.

Aparently in my town unless someone previously reports the problem/concern they can't help you out. My mother had her rim on her Solara scratched when she backed up and slid down a decayed and hidden drainage hole. It wouldnt of been that bad save for the rebar which was exposed due to the concrete eroding.

I hope the city/town pays for the damage and doesnt dick you around much if at all.

Different places have different rules concerning what the state or city will or will not pay for. In some places you have to have a cop show up on scene to verify it and file it as an accident report before the state will do anything about it. It would be good for everyone to learn how the rules in their local area work.

Pictures!

Thanks nycgps I wish you luck too.

I did file a police report, The funny thing is that when I got to the police station there was another guy that had just hit the same hole. So that makes 5 of us.

You can't see verry well in the picture but the rim is cracked from side to side.

I just hope that my suspension is OK :-(

Even though its the richest country in the world?

Since when did Brunei become the richest country in the world?

Brunei is one of the richest developing countries in the world, but far from the richest in the world.

going off the GDP, Brunei is ranked 151 (actual number should be slightly higher...explained in a sec) with a GDP of $6.842B

the US is 1st, with a GDP of $12.36Trillion. In the list, it is ranked as #2, with the #1 spot being occupied by "the world" (not a country that i'm aware of). #3 is the EU, also, not a country.

Going by GPD per capita, Bermuda takes #1 with $69,900, US is #6 with $41,800, and Brunei is #42 with $23,600.

My God that looks like the "Grand Canyon" here in Arizona.
I would definetly have the dealer look at the suspension for alignment and damage.

^I will agree. I went to Puerto Rico once and the roads were TERRIBLE! even in Ford F-150 the ride was almost equivalent to a beating.
