So I am looking into buying and re selling items online using Ebay or something along those lines..

My first question is, do you need a sellers or business license to sell more than just a few personal items online using Ebay or something similiar?

Second, does anyone know where to buy products at resale prices? I have been doing a lot of research online and have found a few "wholesale" dealers who have some decent prices, but they aren't that great... I still find stuff quite a bit cheaper on ebay ;( which tells me they are buying from somewhere that is quite a bit cheaper.

Do you have to get your resale license and go straight to the company with the product(s) you want to buy?

I don't really expect all this to work out, Im just curious and trying to get some info on the whole idea.. thanks for reading!

No, no need for any kind of license to "resell" on Ebay, one of my neighbors sells tooth whitening kits on the 'bay, he's moved about 40,000.

You will need a business license to buy at the wholesale places though. At least the ones that really will sell products below retail.

Is a business license different from a re-sale license? My buddy has a resale license for his pump business.. he said he just filled out an application and got it right on the spot.

Where do you go to find the places that sell items in bulk well below the retail price?
