how much can i expect to get out of a well tuned cz? im running pretty stock, all i have is the revi. while on the track last week it was apparent that i was not getting out of corners quick enough. short of changing the final drive, what else can i do on a budget to get some more pull from the car?

A well tuned CZ could probably give you 15-20whp, however you won't keep that tune very long due to the LTFT. But there are like 10 threads right now about how to get more power out of the car, particulary for a NA set up. Feel free to read either one of them.

You'll get a few pounds feet in the upper rpm range 6000+. Nothing below that. A well tuned cz can get 20 hp in the upper rpm range, a mid-pipe and cz is a good bang for your buck upgrade. I'd try staying in a higher gear when you exit the turn, if you aren't exiting at 5000+ rpm then try a higher gear.

im not looking for power, im looking for torque

do you mean lower gear? i wasnt watching the tach, but id say it was a safe bet i was exiting at at least 6k

Interceptor-X.... I have it and love it. My car has never pulled so hard in it's life. Every gear is very strong now and driving it is tons of fun. I even go out on mini rides like I did when I first got my car because it's that much better now.

The best part about it is that you fully control all aspects of the engine and dont have to worry about LTFT changing anything. LTFT just refers to the stock ECU's ability to adapt under ever changing conditions.

torque is directly related to horsepower.
there seems to be an increase of misunderstanding "torque and horsepower" stuff in the past couple days.
An increase in torque at any given rpm will yield an increase in HP at that rpm...

yeah. the increase was mainly by me :)

yeah, i understand that, but most mods out there are focused on adding hp. i know that torque will follow this (or actually come before) but i was wondering what the cz (a fairly cheep mod) will do in regards to torque or if theres something better

torque doesn't follow or come before horsepower... you still don't get it.

Power = Torque * Rpm

The cz will mainly improve torque at 6k and above. Thus, people say that "it boosts horsepower".

A mod which improves torque from idle to 5252 would improve horsepower too, only people say "it boosts torque", because your peak horsepower hasn't gone up. But average HP is really more important.

When most people are saying "I want more torque" they really mean "I want more average horsepower, I don't want a narrow, peaky boost in performance".

1) That is a nice explanation BrnVBgMeat.
2) What the hell is a "Baron VonBigmeat" and what does he have to do with Nikolai Tesla or Thomas Edison?
