The trick is that neither one of them are triangles. They're both weird 4-sided shapes with very deceiving border lines (the black lines) to make it look like a triangle.

Just look at the top triangle. The slope of the green triangle is 2/5 (.4) and the slope of the red triangle is 3/8 (.375).

This would probably piss off an architect so bad.

Yep, if these were solid objects and not just a drawing, there would be a noticable divit between the blue and red triangles.

The answer is one of two things. Caramelized Onions or Sunspots. Together they can eff everything up.
