...a half can of Mountain Dew will ABSOLUTLY F**k UP a wireless keyboard. Go figure. :spank: I tried taking it apart and drying it out but it still types a "0" or a ")" when you press the right shift key and a "_" or "-" when you press the left shift key. Now I am having to use an old keyboard I had stored in my closet. I'll let it sit overnight and if it is still messed up I guess I'll buy a new one. :banghead:

Don't let it sit overnight without washing it.
There's just not much to a keyboard at all. I've heard of folks successfully running them through a dishwasher (low heat, no dry I presume?), but I've always just rinsed them thoroughly.
Anything acidic will destroy the guts of your keyboard (savy resistive membrane?), but if the device is off then flushing with clean water will do zero harm so long as you let it dry completely before powering it up again.

Well, it is a wireless keyboard so it has a little circuit board inside and a place for the batteries. I did try taking it apart and drying it out with a paper towel but that just made things worse. Maybe I'll take it apart again and remove all of the electronic stuff and try what you suggested. Thanks.

if you don't wash the pop out it'll make all of the keys sticky and pretty gross (stuff will stick to the dried out pop and well, you get the picture)
You can actually wash it, let it sit for a few days and hopefully it'll go back to normal. However if you actually tried to use it after the little spill it's pretty much dead..

edit: oh yea, forgot to mention.. Try using distilled water instead of tap/filtered water

I agree with CBD. Take out the batteries, and rinse the crap out of it. If you can get deionized water (distilled might work) you definately want to go with that. Otherwise, just use purified water.

Hmmm, wireless keyboard = slightly more $$$. Worth some slightly heroic measures. Kudos for opening it, but the key is to rinse thoroughly and 100% dry (time is best means, no wipe job can be 100%). Paper towels alone will not get the residue. Acidic residue will eventually eat away at stuff, but certain residue can be sufficiently electrically conductive to cause a malfunction (or even damage, but that's less likely in such a low voltage device).
Good luck with it.

oh no, that sucks!! Hope you can get your keyeboard working, just listen to what CBD said, that should do the trick.
On another note: what kind of wireless keyboard? (wireless is definitely the way to go)

ACK! That's alcohol abuse! Unless, of course, it was crappy tequila.
