I have already have been pointed to sandwiches and lean cusine..any other suggestions? BunnyGirl 07-11-2006, 01:17 PM Depends on what kind of place you work at; whether you have a fridge, microwave, et cetera; how long your lunch break is. Salads are always nice and you can add meat and cheese to make it more filling. Or you could make a taco salad. My lunch for tonight (basically my dinner) is a piece of chicken, grape tomatoes, pretzels, and grapefruit juice. I'm thinking the tomatoes probably don't go so well with the juice, though. :) L-Co 07-11-2006, 01:22 PM You could always do the little nifty microwave things in a cup...soup, ravioli, chili, etc. I bring leftovers from the previous night's dinner a lot. BlueRenesis82 07-11-2006, 01:31 PM The soup in a cup things sound intriging.....anyone else? alnielsen 07-11-2006, 01:43 PM Bananas, Oranges, Apples ..... Got to watch the Food Pyramid. saturn 07-11-2006, 01:57 PM Bananas, Oranges, Apples ..... Got to watch the Food Pyramid. The Food Pyramid has been abolished. It's now the Food Rhombus -- keep that in mind. SayNoToPistons 07-11-2006, 02:03 PM Sushi.... captain mercury 07-11-2006, 02:04 PM do you have Trader Joe's in Wisconsin??? if so, they have the ultimate pre-made lunch selection! salads, sandwiches, lasagnas, stuffed red peppers, sushi...i could go on all day! fresh or frozen i used to work there, but everyone becomes a customer for life delrmx01 07-11-2006, 02:04 PM I'm going to a chinese buffet for my lunch.... eat out :) Ike 07-11-2006, 02:15 PM Make a couple big pans of Lasagna and then freeze it in individual portions. Beef stew is good for that kinda thing as well. MrJynx 07-11-2006, 05:44 PM The soup in a cup things sound intriging.....anyone else? yeaaa, I was pretty hung over one day and couldn't eat solid food, so I tried this new campbell's soup in a can.. At first it was intriging, until . . . . :puke: didn't have a nice ending.. but this thread is a great idea! I can never figure out what to bring for lunch as well so what else is there? I find I have no diversity and usually bring the same damn thing. MrJynx Jedi54 07-11-2006, 05:52 PM If you've got a freezer, I've always wanted to see what those Hungry Man dinners are like. Make sure you snack throughout the day; string cheese, nuts (almonds are great protein), grapes, and maybe the ocassional yogurt. If you get bored of packing a lunch all the time, just do what I do: have an ocassional Meal replacement shake. (it's like a protein shake sort of, just tastes a lot better) I'll throw some frozen strawberries in there and things like that... RedSheDevil 07-11-2006, 05:57 PM these simply asia things are not bad ... they even come with a little fork too!! i like the kung pao. http://p2.hostingprod.com/@thaikitchen.com/heatservenoodlebowl.html RedSheDevil 07-11-2006, 06:02 PM also, sams club has lots of frozen prepared foods that you can separate into single serving sizes (translation=half the box) you can also get single serving pizzas that are microwavable, but they arent the greatest after nuking. biggest thing to think of with the sammiches: keep things like lettuce/tomato/bread spreads separate and add them right before eating. nothing is grosser than soggy bread on a sammie. Spazm 07-11-2006, 07:33 PM I forget the brand, but there are some teriyaki rice bowls that are pretty good. Also, they sell individually wrapped chimichangas and burritos which are pretty good as well (frozen.) Costco sells a big whopping box of 28 corndogs...gotta love corndogs. Ajax 07-11-2006, 08:25 PM personally, I bbq a few babies at the beginning of every week.. the best thing about bbq babies is 4 drumsticks.. SayNoToPistons 07-11-2006, 09:27 PM seriously... you cant beat sushi! |
