Hello all zoomers,

How long does it take to register a car? My car is already at the showroom, loan has recently been approved, just short of registering the car. If the paper work is done on monday, how long more does it take?

Pressuring them? what do u mean by that? Thru my dealer??

Anyway, sadly, the car i bought was not an Rx8... i wasn't aware of the 1/4 of salary rule for taking a loan, until the mazda dealer at payalabar told me. So i bought a civic instead. Don't CHASE ME OUT OF THe forum!!

haha nxt car mostlikely an rx8.. or even 9..

which version of the civic? Last month's import tuner has a great looking civic. I love the new meters.

Its the 1.8vit-s 5mt that i bought. Yeah i agree with u that the displays is extremely pleasant looking. In fact, after i got "rejected" at mazda, i was thinkin of the Mazda6 or 3. But i didn't test drive it yet. I went directly to honda to take a look, and the monent i test drove the car, i fell in love with the entire package, especially the displays. Its very very well laid out, right infront of u when u drive.

But of course. Still can't beat the rx8

Anyway, i'm extremely impressed with the official fuel comsumption published my honda. My consolation for getting the civic. =)

Is there a 1/4 of salary rule for taking a loan? What does it work?

Lets say if we're purchasing a car at a price tag of $100k.

100k, 10 year loan @ 3.5% = 135k over 120 months = Instalments of $1125 per month.

So in order to qualify for the loan quantum, you salary should be in the region of 3.5 - 4 times of $1125, depending on the bank

I thought it was a guildline by MAS only and not mandatory? But its a good gauge, earn any less and it can get difficult.

Isn't the new civic close to the PI rx8 price? And PIs usually can get you a loan easier; more eager to close deal.

But the great upside is, civics are way easier and cheaper to mod. Maybe if i stirke lottery i will buy one again.
