I ordered my first object off of ebay today. Feel pretty good. It was ultra easy, I can see why I have freinds that are more or less addicted to ebay. Anyhow, carry on.

View Full Version : My ebay cherry. BlueEyes 06-28-2006, 11:55 AM I ordered my first object off of ebay today. Feel pretty good. It was ultra easy, I can see why I have freinds that are more or less addicted to ebay. Anyhow, carry on. BullitHockey 06-28-2006, 11:59 AM Ive been using eBay for awhile now and it is true that you can find great deals on there. Its funny you tell some people that you bought something off eBay and they tell you that you are craqzy and are going to get scammed. lol I just ask them if every thing is a scam how come people still use it. Anyways congrats on poppin your eBay cherry and happy bidding Gambit 06-28-2006, 12:34 PM all of my ebay experiences have been good up until this current one....(pushing a month since I bought the item and haven't received it yet) rrrrr...i'm gonna go email that guy again...... Photic 06-28-2006, 12:43 PM Nice, what did you order? I've ordered several things. My most recent was a UV LED flashlight, for like $8 after shipping. BlueEyes 06-28-2006, 12:49 PM I ordered an autographed photo of Joe Mesi, the boxer, as a present for a freind of mines birthday. Her favourite boxer. Photic 06-28-2006, 12:52 PM Awesome :) captain mercury 06-28-2006, 12:53 PM ebay is great if you are wise enough to find a good deal and know when and when not to bid. its also great if you are a seller and can take advantage of the suckers out there. ive sold easy to acquire items for higher than store prices. mysql101 06-28-2006, 12:54 PM I've been using ebay since 1999. I have at least three accounts, each with ~200 feedback, but 300+ transactions. I rarely have had issues. Only one negitive feedback, and that was because I gave the seller neg for not replying to emails and not shipping the item I won. The last month on Ebay has been horrible for me - first I get a laptop that was in less than perfect condition (screen cracked, hole in the batt (covered by duct tape), hindges broken, etc), then the CEL reader can't read from my car, and after returning it the seller says he didn't get it back... and most recently a palm PDA I bought was not delivered by the seller. When I called he promised to email me the tracking number, but he never sent the email and no longer answers his phone. Oh, I managed to get my money back from the laptop guy, but he's demanding I ship the broken laptop back to him (so he can scam someone else with it), I told him to call UPS and have it picked up, but he's screwing around and wants me to foot the bill for shipping. Last I heard from him he claimed he was filing a police report to say that I stole the laptop. As if I want that garbage... BlueEyes 06-28-2006, 01:30 PM ebay is great if you are wise enough to find a good deal and know when and when not to bid. its also great if you are a seller and can take advantage of the suckers out there. ive sold easy to acquire items for higher than store prices. I'm sure he's probably thinking that I'm a sucker. The guy sells lots of autographed sports memorabilia, and probably got a bunch of these photos signed for free. I paid 30 bucks for it, which is double what they go for on baby joe mesi's website, but they're all sold out. I don't really care because 30 bucks is well worth the smile it will put on my freinds face, but no doubt he's laughing all the way to the bank..err..the paypall website? mysql101 06-28-2006, 01:43 PM It would be really funny if BlueEyes was bidding on captain's auction :) DOMINION 06-28-2006, 02:31 PM I'm going to sell crack on ebay lol Jedi54 06-28-2006, 02:43 PM ebay rules! A few years back I got really into painball and I purchased almost all my gear from ebay. (all new) Marker, hopper, tank, jersey, pants, and gloves. Haven't used it much lately but maybe it's time to start lookin' again. Grats on the Cherry blue nzarnow 06-28-2006, 04:53 PM I have just recently started using e-bay as well. I find that buying video games and computer accessories are the best for e-bay. You can always find a new game for 10-30 dollars cheeper and things like hard drives can be found for great prices. I bought battlefield 2 for 20 bucks off e-bay when it was new and decided I didn't like it so sold it for 35 on e-bay. captain mercury 06-28-2006, 07:32 PM an old co-worker of mine used to go to auto shows to pick up brochures from all the manufacturers. he would also have some mailed to him. somehow, he was able to sell them on ebay ...which of course was all profit. nzarnow 06-29-2006, 03:48 AM SWEET! I just won an auction for Fifa World Cup 2006 for the PC for 8 bucks including shipping! (6.50 plus 1.50 shipping) It's a brand new game with a MSRP of 30. E-bay ftw! youpey 06-29-2006, 11:18 AM i sold something on ebay...it turned into a bidding war and i got more for it then i paid for it...it was a cold air intake for an explorer v8...not to hard to come by saturn 06-29-2006, 11:27 AM For the newbies, eBay is all about sniping. You want until the last few seconds and place a bid. You might think this wouldn't work because people will bid their max amount well before the end of the auction so it doesn't matter when you post your bid, but it really does work. I'll save the theories and all that as you can read about it online. Suffice it to say that in certain situations it can save you a good amount of money. |
