Looking to get a bunch of things done this week before a road trip, so I have a few questions.
1. I am getting Tint and ClearShield put on at Ziebart, because they are the cheapest, and could get me scheduled in days instead of weeks. Anything I should be aware of with them? I've had two cars tinted by them and I'm happy with it, so doubt this is an issue.
2. They are putting on clearshiled, but the parts are cut on a plotter in-house. He also mentioned that his material isn't wide enough to do the full front bumper without some sort of horizontal seam. It sounded like the seam would be at the centerline of the foglights. This sounds acceptable to me, but maybe someone has a differing opinion. I know the Xpel kits cover everything, but I've yet to find someone in the area who does it.
3. Any preinstall prep I should do? Anything to get the paint ready for being covered for years (wax, polish, etc)?
4. Any other parts of the car that I should get covered? I'd like to just catch him in the middle of it and have him stick on some easy areas, because I know flat surfaces are pretty fast and easy.
5. How hard are the front splash guards to install? I'm ordering a set, and wondering if I should look into an appt to have them put on there. They said a rivet gun might be needed, but I could probably dig that up easily enough.
