I just bought my RX8 on Friday, with a credit score of a little over 800. The MAC rate was over 8%. The finance guy said that he never uses the MAC rate since it is always so high. I went with Capital One at 5.8% - but I got that rate on my own.

MAC is always high, got my 8 like Last June, and gave me a rate of 7.9

trying to get better rate since then but Thanks to Chase they fuxked my credit score from 800 to 600 (their credit card customer care sucks, dont even use them) and I cant get anything lower than 8.5 now.

Just checking with the cash back incentives if you finance through MAC. Not worth it then.

Thanks

I bought my RX-8 last month and after the price was agreed upon the dealer went "shopping" for a lender and stated that MAC was too high and found a credit union but they gave me the $1000 "incentive" regardless. I was under the impression it was a MAC only type of offer but I guess it varies from dealer to dealer?

**Edit** Mine is an '06 model.

I bought in February, and with a credit score over 800, the MAC rate for me was 9.7% . Of course I took the financing just to get the cash back incentives. But, they ended up only making a month's worth of interest off me.

I bought my 05 new in May and they tried to shaft me because I've never had an auto loan, 15% first time buyer finance! I said okay, there's no way in hell i'm paying that and I'm going to have my father co-sign since his credit score is through the roof and if you still give me 10%+ I'm walking off this deal.

Came back approved at 7.5% which I think is still high. I'm getting it refinanced now, 3 months into my 36 month loan. By the way, the only reason I used MAC is because it was required to get the rebate I needed to get my car for 10 grand off MSRP.

Also a side fact, did you know you can actually refi the car right away with no penalty to you? The dealers tell you to wait 2 months or else Mazda North America charges them back to the incentive and they foot the bill so if a dealer really pisses you off then just finance with MAC and refinance it when you get home at a better rate.

Got mine a couple of weeks ago, and they insisted the buy rate through MAC was 7.9%

On the note about refinancing- are you sure I can do it immediately and keep the $500 incentive? That'd definitely be nice. I couldn't get a straight answer when I checked into it. My credit rating is 785, so I certainly should be able to do better than 7.9.

You could, cuz the thing is that, once everything type on the contract, its final. and they cant "reverse" it.

when you refinance its pretty much like u're "paying your car off" on your first month, which will not breach the contract in any way.
