New service part is out. A mesh that covers the lower part of your 04/05 condenser. But notice one thing-

"Note: The cost of installation and the protector is not covered under the Manufacture Warranty and
must be paid for the by customer. "

I'm sorry... but WTF? They recognize this as enough of a problem to release a service announcement and make a special part, but the customer has to pay for the part and labor? That's f-d up.

They seem to recognize the vulnerablility of the condenser but neglect the oil coolers. Doesn't make sense to me.

Cuz its not a design defect. Well to me its not.

but yea I guess they should at least install it for all the 8 owners (I dont need one cuz my A/C is fully protected by RB screens :-D) maybe charge them labors. but the part ?

honestly- how much could the part possibly cost them? It seems they're happy for us to just wreck our condensers and pay them an arm and a leg for a new one.

The labor going to kill them, the screen probably cost like what? 10 bucks each to make ?(the MOST!)

If theres 100K 8 out there. and average Labor charge 100 per hour(my dealer charge 95). and it takes 1/2 hour to do this (its a bout 1/2 hour), still going to cost them lots of money.
