That's fairly common stuff, even moreso with rotary cars like the FC and FD.

... some love it.. some dont... some think the LS1 is the perfect engine matched with the perfect chassis when its being swapped into a FD... meh... different strokes for different folks.

I still don't get what is special about this car and what makes it "extreme". It makes a whopping 320whp, weighs more than stock from all the crap he has added. It even has stock wheels from another car, which is ultra lame. To further what I tried to be nice about earlier, this is nothing new nor nothing special, this is not the only 300Z of any vintage to have an LS1 swap. In fact, there probably aren't many older sporty cars out there that someone hasn't tried to stick a Chevy V8 in.

Aparently its common but its the first time I've heard of this. If Ike said is try and the rest of the car is pretty much stock I hope this guy isnt done yet and figured he'd show off he has done. To me American Muscle in a Japanese car is classic in its own right. Once seen a Porsche 926 I believe have a Chevy Small block in Hot Rod and the editors didnt bash it at all just if anything perplexed as to why the guy did it. I personaly like it and give the guy credit now he just has to slap on some Moroso and Eddlebrock parts and that thing will haul *** haha.

Hmm valid point, well none the less i think it rocks...Well honestly the factory engine is alot heavier then an all aluminum ls1 and as you can see in the other picture on that site he pulled out all the extras and doesnt have anything but the motor as far as i can see....not the best pic but you can tell there is just the motor....The Z doesnt weigh much to begin with and a light motor....i think she would fly....I dunno I just thought it was cool.....

Personally I think a flat-4 boxer from an STi would be a good swappin' engine.
