I will let you know after the drift day I am going this coming Sunday. Basically it is the combination of the Mazdaspeed 4 points and the Autoexe 4 points struts.

What do the side points mount to?

Looks good I noticed a difference when I went to my four point strut brace. One thing I would like is a brake cylinder stopper.

This looks similar to the jdm 4 point strut bar. Is this the same thing?

They are mounted to the fender, ~ 1" from the firewall, the same mounting points that Autoexe uses.

That's why I have it custom made. None of the 4 points strut bar have the brake cylinder stopper for the left hand drive model.

It is from Japan, believe the brand is Revolution Motoring Communications.

Autoexe sells a master cylinder stopper too.

Looks pretty interesting, with some lineage w/the Autoexe 4 pt brace. The Autoexe braces against the side of the engine bay only, but not that flimsy piece of cowl metal.

The side brace is a sandwich of very heavy metal, you have to open up the fender area to get the behind the fender to tighten the metal bracket down against the main brace. The brace pretty much becomes an integral part of the chassis at that point. How does this afix to the side?

But there is the nice triangles formed by these braces and that is a very good idea and design. I think if you're going to make a brace, some solid triangles forms are essential to rigidity. Surprised no one has made a brace like this before, hope it work good for you at track.

That's why I said its a combination of Mazdaspeed 4 points and the Autoexe 4 points. The Mazdaspeed 4 points is bolted on to the 2 screws (those hold the engine cover) on the firewall.

I am using the exact mounting location as the Autoexe on the side fender mounting points. Why I am so sure? Because the guy made mine strut bar installed the Autoexe on the other rx8 2 days ago. We did used a backing plate on each side mounting point, and the only different is that Autoexe uses 2 bolts on each side, but we used 1 on each side only, the big 1 on Autoexe's setup. However, I may go to 2 bolts setup later.

it holds the brake master cylinder in place. under hard braking with the brace in place you'll notice better brake pedal modulation/feel. as may have been mentioned before in this thread, the mazdaspeed front strut brace includes a BMS stopper.
