I thought this thread was going to be about the musical.

Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain
And the wavin' wheat can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain.

I tried to get something together a long time ago, but had a hard time getting people to come out. Then the main guys that showed up all the time either moved or sold thier cars. I was trying to get 7's and 8's together. I but I gave up cause only 5 people would show. I even designed a logo.

Hey Jump, it's a shame the OKC group kinda went by the wayside. I haven't bothered keeping up with you folks since movin last summer. I posted the OKC club pics with pride here with the Georgia group. Good to see you're still around. --Gimlet, formerly OKC-RX8 (changed the names for obvious reasons).

hey man how have you been? Yeah, but I am putting my name on the list to get a Mazdaspeed 3. I have been having some issues with the 8 and it time to get rid of her. I hate to do it but I like the MS3 alot.

Been doin great. The Georgia group is extremely active which helped in making some friends quickly. Sorry to hear you've been having probs with the 8; enjoy the 3!

I'm still around as well, been working a lot.

Sat down and figured up my past MPG, worked out to 15.6 mpg or so =/

What's even worse is that includes about a tank's worth of highway driving. I averaged it out of three tanks. I blame my new exhaust.

Unfortuantely we have not been very organized recently. I've seen a couple 8's around town but every time I mention Rx8 club I just get strange looks :x

What color 8 do ya drive and where in OKC? I'm in NW OKC mostly or edmond in a (obviously)white mazdaspeed w/ some gunmetal rims. Feel free to flag me down if we ever cross!

Sounds good worm. Don't know the odds of "running" into each other though, I live in Midwest City. Would enjoy getting together sometime with as many 8 owners in the area as we could though. As for me, mine's all stock grey '04 GT. I haven't even gotten to tint the windows yet. Is anyone from the area going to the BBQ this weekend? I'll be leaving out sometime Friday afternoon, after my girl get's off work. Anywho, talk at ya'll later.

Pity--that musical is the best thing to come out of Oklahoma.

Let's just say that it doesn't do the State justice.

I might as well start gathering some info up. If you're interested in a monthly/semi monthly meet in the OKC metro area please PM me Name/Email/Phone contact info.

I'll talk with the 7 goons and see if we can't get some OKC Rotary (car)love going. Or at least some BBQ.

Edit: BuLL, is that red Velocity red or is there a new red for 06 and if so.. is that it? It needs clear corners! :)

BuLL
10-26-2006, 03:57 PM
Yep, that's the new Copper Red....already discontinued for '07. :Eyecrazy:

Need to jerk off that wind deflector, and thinking about adding strakes. Where's the recommended place to purchase the clears?

Ok, I know this isn't the "spotted" forum, but it is Oklahoma. I was turning left onto Air Depot from 29th(right outside Tinker) and I spotted a black(I think) "8". Figured I'd see if I could find out who it was, if you're on here.

DrifterX
12-20-2006, 11:15 AM
i know who that is it was black with the Mazda speed kit i been looking at other forums to see if they have autox or track time comming soon i really want to take the 8 out there.

Axial flow
12-21-2006, 07:30 AM
I'd like to see some of that. I've never seen autox in person, much less done it. So is that back 8 someone on here or what?

Ok, saw another one on base today. Yellow with a wide black stip down the middle.

DrifterX
12-26-2006, 12:46 PM
the pca club has autox mostly every month is nothing crazy and a good way to learn what the 8 can do and if you want to mod it's $20 bucks for like 8 runs.

This spring (if nothing is going by then) I'll be trying to ramp up some meets. Maybe some BBQ+scca events or something, or car wash+cruise etc. I've seen a couple more 8s around NW side, a few of the new reds and a couple more whites.
