Wow I can't believe I did it! Everything was already prewired because I had an old system. After the install yesterday I drove my car for about 3 hours and the fuse blew. I asked people for advice and I decided to change the power wire to 4G because the 8G might be too small for the 500/1. Also yesterday I had a 40A fuse rather than 50A fuse which is recommended. So, today I wired a 4G and put 50 AGU fuse. I just hope I dont run to any problems anymore. Thanks Adrian-1 for all the help and selling me ur sub/amp/4080 :D:

I have a very set up, with two amps in the same place as yours. although i have a plexiglass cover, i've never had a problem with overheating so i think you should be fine. if it's a concern, the installer suggested that I drill small holes into the cover to release the heat.

I was looking at a plexiglass cover, sound like the option i will probably go with. I would hate to blow my amp.

Great job.
Wow, a woman that does her own installs, that's HAWT!

I didn't have any overheating issues with the cover on. As far as the settings on the amp, checkout this link (http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/SYS_5.pdf). They should already be set to that, then just play with the gain.

I've mailed you the power distribution block to use for the cap. It'll fit perfectly with your 4ga power wire, you'll just need some 8ga wire to run to the cap and theamp. Here's a pic (http://www.cox-internet.com/adrian-1/images/RX8/stereo/4%20power%204%20distribution%20in%20trunksmall.JPG ) of where I put it.

10w6 = greatness, I have 2 of them and if I crank it enough I can't breathe... Need EQ for 2 of them though, because its way too much most of the time.

Yeah not until my bf changed all the settings! Thanks for the link this is very helpful. I bought me an insolator because the power wire/agu gets hot and I'm scared that it will melt. And thank you for mailing the distribution block.

i have 210w6v2s running off a 500/1 amp.. anyone know how the sound would differ between her set up and mine? would it be bad if i got another 500.1 amp so it would be a 500.1 to each 10w6v2?
