Ladies and Gents,
What a great forum! I enjoy reading thoughts and opinions on the hot RX-8 and user's views on other sports cars such as the S2000. I know there has been some heated debates between S2000 and RX-8 owners in both this forum and the www.s2ki.com boards. All I can say is both are fantastic cars. IMO, there is not a sportier 4 seater than the RX-8 under 70k. Have a good one.

Hi sluallstar & welcome!

Great pic! Just wondering what the circular area is on the bumper, right below the headlight? Except for pics, I've never seen an S2000 up close (mainly b/c they were always going faster than me ;) )

It's the cover for the tow hook in case the driver gets a little too confident in the twisties:p

Gotcha!

Any more pics of the car?

Oh, I did purchase an S2000 antenna for my Celica - much better than the crappy whip antenna. ;)

Hi Sluallstar,

Its a close call for me between the RX8 and the S2000, both great cars in their own right. :D I like to read www.s2ki.com as well as this is another good forum.

I drove the S for a weekend and loved it, though Im holding out for the 8 because it has more of what I want at the moment.

VTEC is awesome though :)

I wanted an S2000 S0000 bad - had a Spa Yellow on order. When we found we needed four seats and doors (first baby) the RX-8 was the best replacement.

Love the S2000......top pick for a sporty convertible...kicks butt over other more expensive drop tops! Nice car...welcome to the Rx 8 forum. 2 great cars!

Welcome sluallstar. The S2000 is a beautiful car. If I ever need a 2-seater and/or convertible, it would be one of the first ones I would consider.

Welcome to the forum.:)

It seems like the the S2000 and RX8 are often cross-shoped due to there similar engine characteristics.

Hope you enjoy the community.

I too like many looked at the S2000, but I needed on ocasion the extra seats and I also eprsonally couldnt handle the engine noise, but I'm crazy that way. Happy with my car, but you got a hell of a ride. Enjoy!

If I didn't need the 4 seats, I would have owned an S2000 over a year ago.

Appreciate your comments & welcome to the board. Look forward to further contributions.

It's not the most inviting interior but damn that car rocks :)

If I didn't need a back seat... it would be mine :p

I've already said the S2000 was my #2 choice. These pix confirm that, at least to myself anyway. I really like that one in front of the capitol bldg. Nice colors coming of the paint there. These two cars just really push my buttons. This one reminds me of my good old 124 sport spider, in that it's that type of car. Of course, this would totally blow away my good old Fiat. Gotta be 5-star fun factor!

Thank you. It's Sebring Silver. Silverstone is a bit darker.

Sebring Silver rules yo! :D I Like the blue leather interior.. I'm still debating if I should splurge for the S but the $10,000 price difference and added utility of the rx-8 with 4 seats/bigger trunk make it a great bargain.. Plus I'd have to get a winter beater too.. Plus there is only so much $$$ to go around.. :(

Very nice!

I agree: that pic in front of the steps really shows off the color! (wish the back end of the car was visible, though ;) )

I can't tell from the pics, but is there some sort of grill protecting the radiator?

There is a grill that comes with the S2000 but doesn't do much in the way of protecting the coolers. I believe the primary purpose of the stock grill is to direct air flow. Many owners have installed grill kits to keep the rock dings to a minimum. I'm contemplating the idea, but I don't know if I like the looks.

And of course, the next question to ask, what do you use to wax/detail it? Are you a Zaino man or a wax man?

Call me old fashioned, but I use Meguiar's wax. I've always had great success with it. I might break down and try Zaino one of these days.

that's great to know people that come from other forums aren't all trolls! welcome and like many people here, the S2000 was definitely one of the top choices...for me it was RX-8 > G35c > 350Z > S2000 but the suicide doors are what got me...love your car and thanks for coming by

Went and looked at the S2000 again tonight, you got me wondering...

They had 5, 2 blue (1 w/hardtop), 1 silver, 1 red, 1 yellow. 3 of them had the frontt chin spoiler, rear spoiler and side flares. It definately looks better with these pieces. I could have picked one up for $29,9995, except for the Hardtop it added $4K.

I drove it again now after owning the RX8 for a month. For me I made the right decision. It felt cramped and very uncomfortable after just 10 minutes. I guess I got accustomed to the "luxury" of the RX8. :) The shifting was short smooth and positive a 10 for sure! It didn't feel like it pulled as strong as my 8 which was unexpected. I was taking it easy though shifting before 6.5K. It was tight and a little stiffer than the 8 as well. I can see that this car would be a blast to drive!

Great car !!!!

You should add that the cabin is one of the easiest to get-in-n-out....I am almost 6ft and its easier for me to get out of an S than from my 8..

Funny...exact opposite for me. Not that either is easy for my crippled old ass, but the RX8 is easier.

I've done extensive research when purchasing my RX8. I including the 350Z, G35 Coupe, S2000, and of course the RX8.

I felt most comfortable in the rx8. But all of those cars are definitly worth taking a look at. In the end it was between the s2000 and the rx8. The difference in cash is what changed my mind. I enjoyed the ride of both cars.

BTW Sweet S2000 ....

If we were to help out on interior car design we would drive engineers and designers nuts.:p

Maybe its the open top that helped me get out; however, I cannot say the same thing about getting out of an MR2 nor even from a Miata.
