anyone here hate driving on this POS parkway? There is always traffic here! even when there aren't any accidents. I understand congestion is one thing that usually slows everyone down, but not to a standstill.

Oh yeah, the freakin potholes too.

Not much you can do around the city, there's traffic everywhere. Only time there isnt is around midnight or so.

 

Which parkway? The Northeast covers quite a bit of ground.

 

Belt Pkwy, goes around NYC through Staten Island and takes you to Long Island, and JFK airport

yea it sucks

 

The southern state ant belt have to be the worst highways in NY! I have actually hit traffic at 3am on a wed!

 

hey i actually enjoy driving on the belt. especially at odds times in the night. so many turns =x.. i drive on it all the time. southern state sucks

 

My father lives in Brooklyn so I have been on that road many times. If you hate that road try taking Bay parkway to Ave J. One Sunday I went to Brooklyn and they closed the lower deck of the Verrazano for a bicycle parade, boy that was a fun hour sitting on the belt parkway

 

The Belt usually is screwed up, dont let it rain then the left and right lane usually have a lot of standing water and everyone slows and travels in funeral procession mode.

 

anyone had to drive through the van wyck expressway? (right by atlantic ave.)

the 8 really sucks with stop and go traffic... wish i owned a more gas efficient 2nd car like a prius to deal with sucky mileage problems.

 

Forget about the fuel mileage... Everytime I hit a crack or pothole on the BQE I cringe and almost tear! I'd rather be driving a Dodge 1500 pick-up truck with Rancho suspension and lift kit so I could see over all the other SUV and fly over everything!

Traffic sucks in NYC but we need to have a meet so we can all bitch and complain about it together - kinda like a support group! LOL.
