PIAA Mirror Orange 7440 signal bulbs

I just picked up two pairs of PIAA Mirror Orange 7440 bulbs from a local speed shop and installed them and I'm very pleased with the results. They are similar to stealth bulbs but the light output is much better, actually they are slightly brighter than the stock amber bulbs! That's right, brighter! These are not quite as chrome when unlit, but are a great compromise between great looks and safety. I'm lame and don't have a digital camera, but here is an image of what the bulbs look like:

They are JDM market, so they may be hard to come by in the States, but you can order them here:

Car Gym

I previously purchased chrome bulbs (autolumination.com) and installed one but was not satisfied by the light output, probably 50% compared to the stock bulbs, so I didn't install the rest of them. These are much better.

Are you running them with clear lenses? Can you post pics? IMO, $29 is a lot on money for some bulbs and PIAA is known to fail within six months time. I did quick 'google' search and found that is the going rate for these type of bulbs.

My bad, I just re-read your post about not having a digital camera. Do you know that you can now get a disposable one time use digital cameras?

These are for the front and rear signals, not the corner lights (I actually have amber LEDs behind my clear corners), so the lenses are clear. I've used a variety of PIAA bulbs in the past and have never had a problem. Since the signal bulb is lit so little, (only in flashes when signalling) I'm not worried about them failing too soon. I'll try to pick up a camera later today and take some pics.

Nice find, but for the price I am glad I went with LEDs.

Resurrecting an old thread to see if anyone has had any further experience. Am thinking of these for the front and rear turn signals.

On eBay these PIAAs are about 32-35 bucks for a pair plus shipping.
