For those of you that don't know, this thread is a continuation/update of the thread where we coordinated and planned a meet. The info is as follows:

When: Sunday May 28, 2006, 6 p.m.
Where: Cathedral of Learning, University of Pittsburgh, Bigelow Blvd side
Agenda: Meet up at cathedral; roll up to overlook in schenley park, take pics, etc; hit up an as yet to be determined spot for some food; whatever else...

so i guess the last attempt was shot. do you guys and girls wanna go for another? i think the turnout should be better since most CMU and pitt students should be back for the fall. i personally like to meet before the snow, unless i can locate some 18" snow tires within my budget.

it also may work out much better if we get some rx7 people together as well. i already saw a couple modified FD's rolling around CMU!

I'm up for whatever, but I'm no longer making the attempt to organize cause whenever I do, it doesn't seem to work out...

three is good. we can meet somewhere in strip on any wknd nights or anywhere near campus on any day.

anything's fine. i'm getting 20b installed in my rx8 soon, so we can meet up either before or after :) i have greddy installed now for those who's interested in going turbo.

When are you getting the turbo installed and which campus do you mean, pitt, duquesne, or other?

i'm near cmu. where's duquene? well anyhow, i already have greddy turbo installed with interceptor-x. i'm going to install 20b soon, which is a 3-rotor block.

Duquesne would be a little closer to downtown than you are I beleive.

I'd say we meet up at / near pitt (Alumni bias :rock: ). If not pitt, the strip works. I say that only cause I don't know CMU's campus, so I don't know where there would be a good place to meet.

With regards to duquesne, it's right on the edge of town near the mellon arena (always trying to remember not to call it the civic arena...)

If anyone is willing to meet next saturday, downtown (either by Pitt or by Schenley Park) I would be up for getting together. My schedule looks fairly free. We could grab some lunch and BS about our cars, the crappy recall...etc. If anyone wants to go...I WILL BE THERE GUARUNTEED.

i personally don't like a huge group as it attracts too much attention imho. i think 3-4 can be a good size for sharing good/crappy ideas, thoughts, banters, etc. :mdrmed:

As far as the stadium goes, I took a good bit of pics down there (See thread: http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=95080), so there's definitely good places to shoot down there. I'll see if i can get my boy that took my pics (pro photog) to come thru and shoot...

in the last car meet i had, we met at dave & busters, had fun for a couple hrs, and watched a movie. i thought that turned out quite well.

well anyhow, for me anywhere in pitt is fine. stadium, downtown, restaurants, parks are all great ideas.

or if i had it my way, we can all arrange a trip to beaverun in the near future.

Right next to the stadium, where the 'dead end' is right? I recognize it from your earlier pictures. I'm definitely down. It'll give me a reason to wax the ride, which is long overdue. Hopefully it won't tropical storm on our parade.

Yeah, I know, I've been cursing the weather all week. If it's crappy out I don't see a point. Also, my friend mentioned that the Rib cook-off will be this weekend at Heinz Field.

i went there, and NO ONE showed.

over thousand people with minivans made it to the adjacent parking lots, hell even an overly-stretched limo made it to take some wedding pics at the location we were supposed to meet. sky was as dry as it could be by 3:30pm.

this morning, my dog almost ate my car. sad day for rx8 everywhere..

I was there!!!! (although, I was a touch late...)

I got there at 5 cause I left a bit later than I wanted to, and there was all that traffic because of the Pitt game...

I got down there with my boy (the photog) and we sat there until 530 and then bounced...

Kinda disappointing cause i wanted to see ur turbo stick...

darn should've waited... well anyway i'll be in schinley park tomorrow if you wanna come.
