as the title said

when i am at a light, it turns green, depress clutch, and push into first gear, the car jolted forward

clutch is all the way in, wasn't forcing 1st gear in, car is stationary.

anyone notice that?

1st gear synchro slow in reation? the purpose of synchro is so that daily driver doesn't have to rev match so any idea?

I don't get that even when putting it in gear in a hurry when I don't notice the light turn green fast enough. I would get it checked out.

As mentioned in this thread (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8718), it appears that this is due to the rapid deceleration of the gearbox input shaft. Try depressing the clutch a little longer before engaging first - others have reported that it makes all the difference.

hence the comment about first gear synchro mesh

how about the actual input shaft's speed at time of disengagement is too low?
