Ever Have the Tach Needle Suddenly Die While Driving?

I've had the tach needle die (fall to 0) then jump right back to its proper rpm while driving. It didn't affect the engine, it was like it lost a signal and then re-established.

This first happened after I installed the interceptor, I don't think that is the issue as I un installed it so I can get the car inspected. I never got a CEL with the interceptor installed when this happened.

It happened again tonight right after I took the interceptor out, the car threw a trouble code this time, it was a U0121 which was a ABS trouble code...why would the ABS have anything to do with the Tach?

Could I have pinched a wire? Any idea? It did seem to happen over rough roads only.

I cant say ive ever had this happen. It does kinda sound like maybe you pinched a wire since it seems to happen only of rough roads.

i use to have this happen in my other car where the tach needle would drop to zero when i pres the clutch in then wehn i let the clutch out it regains power but that was b/c my battery wires where not tight all the way so i just tighten my battery wires and it worked fine after that..not even sure if that helps but i gave it a shot

brillo,

that is way way out there.... i would check to see if something hit an abs sensor...... make sure the connections are secure...
